RPG Deals 6/21 – 6/27

It is either a lack of them or partial blindness preventing any knowledge of deals this week.
That does not mean you cannot save any money.
I recently had to replace a broken 360. The video card had died in a manner most resembling the system’s telltale E74 error without the flashing red light. Microsoft would not fix it due to the lack of said flashing, and the $120 they attempted to charge me might as well have been the $200 a new one costs at my rate of pay.
Thankfully I was hired at a better place.
I was without the system for over a month and had a great deal of patience on my side. I thought about grabbing a used one, but those do not come with Microsoft’s three year warranty and quite frankly it is a lot of searching through some harshly used systems to find a decent one. I wound up purchasing it online. As stated in previous columns many online stores do not charge state tax and offer free shipping. The item has a manufacturer’s warranty and any problems would have to be handled through Microsoft directly anyway. While it only save me $12, it still saved me $12. A little bit of patience and tax free/free shipping allowed me to pick some ties for my new job.
For those who frequent GameStop’s stores, you might have noticed the ‘buy 2 get 1 free’ used deal running over the weekend. At least one weekend every month this year has been dedicated to a B2G1 sale on used stuff. This sale has been particularly useful for customers looking to try some different games out. The games can be returned within seven days with your receipt as well. Bonus points to you if the cashier messes up and refunds all the money that would have been spent instead of what was spent.
That’s it for this week. Keep your eyes peeled for any clearance items.
Happy Hunting.
Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has it before writing them off. You might be able to get a raincheck. A lot of these deals are in-store only, except where specified.
