Lots of eye candy and details below:
In the sometimes confusing Kingdom Hearts storyline, it can be hard to keep track of who is what, and what happened first, and who’s on first, and I don’t know — THIRD BASE! Birth by Sleep for PSP will be, chronilogically, the first game in the timeline, officially. Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu magazine that it begins with Master Xehanort being pursued by the three main characters Terra, Aqua, and Ventus.
From Nomura’s point of view, this game is almost three-in-one, because each character must do different things in each of the game’s worlds, including fight different bosses. Players will choose which character to begin with, right from the beginning. How exactly players will go about switching characters — be it at certian points like in Suikoden III, or completely separate files like a SaGa game, or one after the other in sequence like Threads of Fate — is not yet specified.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will have a computer bit that pays attention to a player’s fighting style. A character’s command style and potential actions will alter depending on the way the player is fighting. This can happen if the player’s trigger a change at certain key times, the alternative to which is using a devestating special attack called a “Finish.”
There are some new worlds in this game, including a trip to space with Stitch. The magazine reveals quite a bit about the plot points which happen in these new worlds, but really, ef spoilers. Not gonna print that. Cinderella’s castle is another world to be featured in this game. Again, each of the three main characters will be doing different things within this world.
Nomura says that Birth by Sleep will most likely not be released until after Final Fantasy XIII, so that gamers who buy one have enough time to make financial recovery and then also buy the other.
