RPG Deals 7/11 – 7/17
By Russ | July 11, 2010 at 8:03 pm
Dragon Quest IX, DS games sales, and my failure are the topics of the week.
I apologize for the later than usual column, folks. Toys R Us was offering a $25 gift card when customers bought Dragon Quest IX and any DSi XL. Chances are those interested in Dragon Quest IX have a DS at their disposal, but apologies nonetheless.
Toys R Us is still offering a $15 gift certificate all week long when a customer purchases a copy of Dragon Quest IX. I wonder if this deal can be compounded with the 20% coupon TRU offered last week?
K-Mart is offering a $10 coupon with the purchase of DQ IX, plus certain games are 50% off if bought with DQ IX. Among the titles are Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and some additional awesome in the form of the MegaMan Zero Collection. The PSP-3000 series is $150 at K-Mart this week as well.
Best Buy takes a step above K-Mart, and offers a ‘buy 1 get 1 50% off’ all DS games. That includes DQ IX, of course. No gift cards to go with the deal, but the possibility of a larger selection is sweet.
For those of you who like football and RPGs, Target is offering $20 off select EA titles when they are bought with NCAA Football 2011. Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins are part of the deal.
GameStop is offering Alpha Protocol for $40. This may be a permanent price drop. It’s the fate of all Sega titles, eventually.
That’s all I got for this week. Happy Hunting.
