Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Collection Revealed

Square Enix has announced that it will release a collector’s edition box set of Final Fantasy games I through XIII, not including sequels and spinoffs in Japan.  The set will also include special pieces of artwork and music discs to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary.  The set will include…Games, in these formats:
Final Fantasy (PlayStation, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy II (PlayStation, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy III (PlayStation Portable, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy IV (PlayStation, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy V (PlayStation, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VI (PlayStation, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VII International *(PlayStation, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy VIII (PlayStation, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy IX (PlayStation, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy X (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XI Vana’diel Collection 2 (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XII (PlayStation 2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XIII (PlayStation 3, 1 disc)

The package will ship on December 18 and cost 35,000 yen (roughly $450 US, but keep in mind that’s partly because the US dollar is as weak as a kitten right now).  Those wanting to import had better make the decision quickly, because quantity is limited to the pre-orders that Square gets from its online store, and said orders must be placed before the end of September.

* = This was basically just the American version of the game.  The Japanese version didn’t include Ruby and Emerald weapon, for example, it it got released with all of the content under the name “International.”
