Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, reviewed

By Michael | June 25, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Guest reviewer, Timothy Olsen recently reviewed Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard for RPG Land. Here is the results.

For those who fondly remember the days of yore when the only story one needed in a game was the hook “Your party meets at a tavern,” this game delivers a truly wondrous dungeon crawl. For those expected a story to be told and characters to identify with, not even this game’s musical score will save the player from the unholy amount of tedium and pain they will face. The chance to overcome this game’s dungeon is the only reward Etrian Odyssey II offers, so players should judge their tastes before making a purchase.

Super Robot Taisen Original Generations Saga: Endless Frontier review

By Joseph | June 8, 2009 at 2:15 pm

Super Robot Taisen Original Generations Saga: Endless Frontier Long title, boring game.

SRTOGS:EF is a game of “if only’s” and “could have beens”. If only they had made a story that made sense, if only the battle system showed greater depth, if only they’d attempted to do anything interesting with the graphics, the game could have at least been average. As is, however, it hovers at below average. It’s a game that, to RPG fans, will feel very “ho-hum.” It’s not bad enough to hate, not good enough to like.
