By Heath | November 13, 2008 at 6:56 pm

With Persona 3 having launched the Shin Megami Tensei series into much high popularity levels than it had been used to in North America, Atlus USA is about to reprint Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. But it’s only a limited number, and apparently only through Amazon.com. Link to buy: here. Link to our Persona 2 review by Joseph Wartick: here. Thank to a reader we’ll just call “Curtis” for letting us know about this.

Contest: make fun of the Persona 2 fan translator guy

By Heath | October 9, 2008 at 11:43 pm

In light of fan translation attention whore Gemini deciding to punish his message board users by not finishing his 99 per cent complete patch, we’re giving the boy exactly what he wants: more attention. Hence, we are proud to announce our newest contest. In this, contestants will take screenshots from any Persona game and write funny captions or make a photoshopped version of their entry with the intent of making fun of this whole mess. You can win cool game-related crap from Japan or a snazzy Persona 4 Social Link Pack. Details and examples below:

Persona 2 fan translator too much of pussy to finish project

By Heath | October 6, 2008 at 9:25 am

Previously, it was announced that the Persona 2: Innocent Sin fan translation progress had hit 98 per cent. Now, due to his being an overall sissy, fan translator Gemini has delayed the project. From his own words, it seems this move comes only to spite two or three users of his comment board who began talking to each other about other Persona things, which errupted into e-penis comparison town. No one was even really flaming the project or its director, but each other, yet our boy felt he should delay the project. Fearing his time in the spotlight was coming to an end, this classic attention whore did just that, hence extending the life of his internet celebrity status.  Like a mother putting kids in timeout, he chided “Oh, and expect to see the release delayed by A LOT. I’m seriously pissed off by your ####ing immature behavior.” His recent post also concludes similarly, “Have a nice and flaming day.” RPG Land theorizes that Gemini is related to this man.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin fan translation at 98 per cent

By Heath | August 8, 2008 at 5:43 pm

A game called Persona 2 did indeed receive a release in North America, but what many people do not know is that the version North America got, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, was actually the second volume of Persona 2. The first half, Innocent Sin, never made it stateside. These guys are striving to make the game accesible to the non-Japanese-speaking Persona audience — a group that has grown considerably in the last year, thanks to the success of Persona 3 in the American market and subsequent hype for Persona 4. While fan translations have a way of ending up vaporware, this group’s most recent update claims 98 per cent completion.
