[20:13] <Tiptail> Now if we have an RPGLand Carnivore Day, you can't come. ;_;

And so it began.

Carnivore Day will be Saturday, September 2nd. To celebrate meat and the overconsumption thereof, let's all eat a delicious serving of another animal, and possibly get a picture of it, then post it here in this thread, on Carnivore Day. Here are some guidelines and stuff:

-Hey, what the hell, if your day to eat a ridiculous amount of/ridiculously awesome-tasting meal of meat isn't exactly the 2nd, whatever. In the spirit of the day, post here anyway.

-Describe the meal(s) as best you can. Talk about marinades used, spices, sauces, how "well done" the meats were, etc. Make our mouths water.

-The more meat dishes in your meals, the better. If you have a full meal made of various meats, you are awesome. Pictures of it? Twice as awesome.

-Acend was going to be the judge of this, but Acend is a pompous ass, so VsPluckyDuck (Tiptail) will be the judge, since it was her idea. She's also capable of judging her own work against other without bias, so I'm confident in her ability to call it right. Not like there's a real prize here anyway, just bragging rights. She'll use the above criteria and...probably other stuff she feels necessary.

So let's have at it. A whole day dedicated to proving man's dominance over the rest of earth's organisms has long been in order. Let Carnivore Day begin.

For kicks, here's the rest of the IRC conversation that spurred from there.

[20:10] <RokuDoes50000Things> this is a lot to take in all at once @_@
[20:11] * Rage stuffs a delicious sub in Roku's face
[20:11] <Rage> No
[20:11] <Rage> THAT's a lot to take in all at once.
[20:11] <RokuDoes50000Things> what kind of sub?
[20:11] <Rage> Steak-n-cheese?
[20:11] <RokuDoes50000Things> I don't eat beef
[20:11] <Rage> You do now.
[20:11] <RokuDoes50000Things> wait....so you're both moving to japan and might not be around much? =(
[20:11] * Tiptail gasps.
[20:12] <Tiptail> Don't...eat beef? Does...not...compute.
[20:12] <RokuDoes50000Things> no red meat
[20:12] <Rage> Oh?
[20:12] <Rage> Diet? Religion? Other?
[20:12] <Tiptail> ;_; But but but meat!
[20:12] <RokuDoes50000Things> rage: yes
[20:13] <Tiptail> Now if we have an RPGLand Carnivore Day, you can't come. ;_;
[20:13] <RokuDoes50000Things> I can come and cheer
[20:13] <Tiptail> And it would be a big awesome barbecue and everything.
[20:14] * Rage changes topic to 'RPGLand.com Carnivore Day, Sept 2, 2006 | <ChaosNyte> Damnit, I'll check, but the only way that's possible is by, like, rape by elbow, Orie! >:/ | Andrew starts his own business? Oh shi- http://www.paper-forest.com | Only 19 shopping days till Heath's birthday | Happy Birthdays, Pandar + Andrew~'
[20:14] <Tiptail> Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
[20:14] <Tiptail> Who has the biggest barbecue? I better get the plane tickets now.
[20:14] <Acend> ooh
[20:14] <Acend> I have 3 BBQ pits
[20:14] <Rage> We have a pretty sizable one, but Acend is Texan, so...
[20:15] <Rage> By default
[20:15] <Acend> I am a Texan, we know BBQ
[20:15] * Rage nods
[20:15] <Tiptail> XD
[20:15] <Tiptail> Both had the same idea.
[20:15] <Rage> Exactly what I was saying ^^;;
[20:15] <Tiptail> ...I've never been to Texas before.
[20:15] <Acend> beef BBQ though, we don't do that crap ass pork here in Texas
[20:15] <Tiptail> Yes! Pork is death!
[20:15] <Tiptail> With the exception of bacon, perhaps.
[20:15] <Rage> Hey, pork is good if you do it right. POrk's an easy one to mess up though.
[20:15] <Acend> well hey, you're welcome to come anytime. I can certainly put up 4 people for a bit no problem
[20:16] <Tiptail> Beef is the best red meat.
[20:16] <Acend> oh don't get me wrong, I like pork sometimes. In fact, I'll be eating it tonight
[20:16] <Acend> it's just not BBQ
[20:16] <Acend> and pork is a white meat =þ
[20:16] <Rage> I...never said it wasn't, friend.
[20:16] <Tiptail> Tssh, it's still meat.
[20:16] <Tiptail> As opposed to poultry or fish.
[20:17] <Tiptail> And i didn't say pork was a red meat.
[20:17] <Rage> Also, in talking of BBQ, I am a fan of chicken BBQ as well~
[20:17] <Acend> hehe
[20:18] * Acend won state in chicken BBQ at age 14 for 4-H
[20:18] <Rage> Awesome ^_^
[20:18] <Acend> beat all the other 4000+ 10-18 year olds competing
[20:18] <Acend> one of the highlights of my young life
[20:18] <Rage> Sounds like it ^^;
[20:18] <Acend> but yeah I wanna go to Japan so bad =(
[20:18] <Acend> other than vacation
[20:19] <Tiptail> BBQ chicken is awesome.
[20:19] <Tiptail> And while I'm not a fan of pork, having it roasted on a huge spit is pretty cool.
[20:19] <Acend> sucks how "life" and gets in the way of it
[20:19] <Acend> "life' and "growing up"
[20:19] <RokuDoes50000Things> so you guys are really going away? =/
[20:19] <Tiptail> Lamb's a good grill, but it's really expensive. :/
[20:19] * Rage plays I Believe in Symmetry by Bright Eyes, for Acend.
[20:19] <Acend> oh we have some really good crawfish/crawdad broils here too, being so close to Louisiana
[20:19] <Tiptail> Better for roasting.
[20:20] <Acend> aye
[20:20] <Acend> I love roast lamb
[20:20] <Acend> roast a huge one (well like 12 pounds) about 4 months ago for some friends
[20:20] <Tiptail> What about veal? You down with veal?
[20:20] <Acend> cut wholes in it and embeded it with garlic and fresh rosemary sprigs
[20:20] <Acend> oh it was wonderful
[20:20] <Tiptail> Or is that more for baking or cutlets?
[20:21] <Acend> I like veal, but I've never had the chance to cook with it =(
[20:21] <Acend> I've enver heard of veal BBQ...I'm sure it could be done
[20:21] <Rage> Veal?
[20:21] <Acend> but not sure about flavor
[20:21] <Rage> I don't know that I've ever even had it, but it sounds terrible.
[20:21] <Tiptail> Why does it sound terrible?
[20:21] <Tiptail> It's just beef, except younger.
[20:21] <Rage> Is that the one that's the baby guts?
[20:21] <Rage> Yeah
[20:21] <Rage> XD
[20:22] <Tiptail> It's not guts.
[20:22] <Tiptail> IT's muscle like everything else.
[20:22] <Rage> that was a Simpsons reference, duh.
[20:22] <Rage> But I forgot you never saw that show
[20:22] <Rage> Yeah. Not too keen on that one for some reason ^^
[20:23] <Tiptail> Yeah. REmember: this house hates good entertainment!
[20:23] <Rage> I also figured I'd be a bitch by rubbing it in your face.
[20:23] <Rage> Very Happy
[20:24] <Tiptail> Pssh.
[20:25] <Tiptail> What about...venison?
[20:26] <Rage> Very Happy
[20:26] <Tiptail> I could get my uncles to shoot a deer, or pick one up by the side of the road.
[20:26] <Rage> Venison is awesome.
[20:26] <Tiptail> Real story:
[20:26] <Rage> I don't think you'll find any Pennsylvanian that disagrees.
[20:26] <Rage> Niiiice
[20:27] <Tiptail> My uncles were driving down a highway, going fishing or something, and they see this car by the side of the road.
[20:27] <Tiptail> Two aboriginal guys are out aorund it, looking at damage to their hood and discussing it. So my uncles ask if they need a tow truck or anything, they said no.
[20:27] <Tiptail> After a moment, my uncles ask what they're doing witht he deer, and they said "Oh...nothing much, eh? You want it?"
[20:28] <Tiptail> So my uncles took roadkill deer home and made sausage and stuff with it. XD
[20:28] <Rage> Win.
[20:28] <Tiptail> Hey, free meat, and it's not diseased or anything.
[20:30] <Tiptail> All this talk about meat is making me really hungry. ;_;
[20:34] <Tiptail> Looks like we're having hamburgers for supper.
[20:34] <Tiptail> I was hoping for something more...steaklike.
[20:35] <Rage> mmm, we had steak yesterday~
[20:35] <Rage> My mom made it with some sort of chili rub. It tasted awesome.
[20:36] <Tiptail> ;_;
[20:40] * Acend is now known as Acend|PorckChops

So I'm two bites into one of Dairy Queen's new Chili Meltdown burgers.

I have to say, it's pretty damned awesome. Dairy Queen makes some good chili. For some reason I've been full all day so I could only manage a 1/4lb burger, but next time I'm going in for some major 1/2 pound action. Oh yeah, since I had to wait 15 minutes for them to cook my burger, they gave me a free sundae token. Win.

Earlier I also had half a Tony's Meat Trio pizza, with Ham, Sausage, and Pepperoni.

I also gave my dog three pieces of bologna, so's he could partake in Carnivore Day as well. I don't think I'm going to give anything to my bird though, he's already had a taste of human flesh and I shudder to think what would happen if he grows a taste for it.

All in all, I'd have to give Carnivore Day 2006 delicious/10.

As I am just now being informed of this contest and it was 30 minutes till Sept 3rd I'm going to delay till later today. I'm gonna make mine a two day affair though in celebration of Labor day/Carnivore day =D

I'm planning on turning it into a marathon as opposed to a single meal. Which I will of course finish off with an awesome carnivore meal

This must become a yearly event.

I can't believe I even made it here last night. I almost fell asleep in the hallway trying to get my door unlocked.

So for the actual occasion of Carnivore Day, my family had some store-bought, pre-prepared, pre-seasoned packaged steaks from some store. At least we actually ate some meat, but I found that a little underwhelming.

So today I woke up and found out that my mom had upped the ante for supper tonight. Home seasoned greek ribs, in all of their juicy glory.

Sorry if those are a bit blurry. My camera can be hit and miss when it comes to using the flash or lack thereof.

Oh and on the record, if any of you guys gets a chance, get one of the beef brisket subs from Quiznos. They are seriously bomb ass. It's just a gigantic mound of greasy ass meat and some kind of BBQ sauce on a partially melted (from all the grease) piece of bread/paper. Three of my friends got one and before they could get them home the grease melted the paper the subs were in and the bag the subs were in plus a good portion of the back seat of my Ford Taurus. Seriously probably the most dangerous thing you can put in your mouth aside from like arsenic...

I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

Monday we went to the country buffet (barf I know).

I only ate one type of bird Sad

-Huge ass pork sausages that had some kind of a bbq sauce on them.

-Chicken in a chicken dumpling dish of some sort. FTW Along with a BBQ chicken breast.

-MEATLOAF that had the ketchup baked in. Kind of bad tasting ketchup for some reason but the meat was good. No onions cooked in though, the bastards.

Yesterday I made Chorizo, Egg, and Potatoes all together with some onions and peppers. Then get put it on tortillas with cheese and sourcream. It was f---ing awesome.

Later we ate some fresh polish sausage we got from Bobak's which is the best store ever created.

I took pictures of my Carnivore day marathon and should have them up later today. Instead of 1 meal and entry I turned it into a marathon day. I'm still full and doubt I'll eat for the rest of the week....

I went out and picked up a pound of salmon and 4 steaks for the occasion, and spread them across two meals. The first half pound of salmon was cooked with soy sauce, the second with teriyaki sauce. Both were great, but I prefer the latter.

The steaks marinated in Italian dressing for abuot 4 hourws or so before I cooked them. There's supposedly a grill somewhere here, but I did some half-assed looking around and didn't see it. So unfortunately, I was forced to use a skillet. They still turned out rather good, though. They didn't have that grilled taste I would have liked, but still enjoyable, especially compared to what poor college kids like myself usually eat.

I don't have a camera of any kind, and nor does my roommate. I was sure he would, too, because he has the coolest, dopest electronic stuff friggin ever. =/ Next year?

Ok, I know you've all been waiting for it. Here is my entry for Carnivore Day 2006!!

So I decided to make it a marathon day instead of a single meal. As such I vowed not to eat any food or liquid that was not directly from an animal. As such, I only allowed myself to drink whole milk. No water, tea, soda, or anything else that didn't come from an animal directly.

I had to borrow my parents digital camera and as such do not have pictures from my breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs fried over medium, 3 strips of extra crispy bacon, and 2 pieces of Jimmy Dean sausage.

For lunch I decided to go with a staple of Texas for years and what we are well known for, Bar-B-Q

I started off with the 4 meat special, it came with Beef Brisket, Ham, Venison Sausage, and beef spare ribs. To this I added, for only $3.99, a side of pork babyback ribs. It didn't occur to me till I was halfway through this meal that I had no chicken or other fowl. I must remedy this situation immediately!

So a 1/4 chicken was promptly ordered. Don't worry I gave the nasty hippy sides to my cousin to eat.

"But Michael/Acend..." you say, how do we know you ate this and didn't just grab random images from google? Well my friends, with proof of course!

Those are some mighty fine tasting ribs!

Of course what would Carnivore Day be without a picture of the end of the meal massacre?

That's right, I finished it all.

Oh but ladies and gentlemen I still had one whole meal to go! I would like to take this moment to appologize for the lack of pictures for my dinner as compared to my lunch but I was on a date and it might have been slightly creepy. As such here is what I have:

Between the two of us we split a meal consisting of, Shrimp, Scallops, Lobster, Chicken, and some NY Strip steak. We where even given a Salmon steak they brought to our table by mistake. My date also had 2 Sushi rolls and I had 1 Salmon and 1 Tuna Sashimi (Raw fish steak).

All and all it was a great carnivore day, I am very proud of my meals and believe them to be a very strong entry.[/img]
