Info from our index:
| Quote: | Of known details, Xenosaga III's subtitle is "Sprach Zarathustra," German for "[Thus] Spoke Zarathustra," and it will take place about a year after the end of Xenosaga II. We know also that the cast from the first two games is back, as seen in all those screens featured in the scans. You can also expect more Gears...erm...I mean, more mechs of whatever name they choose for this installment. If you're wondering about the modified looks of the cast, that's due to an unrevealed character designer that has taken the helm for this installment.
What may come as sad news to Xeno fans is that III will be the last of the Xenosaga games. For reference, it was originally supposed to be 6. Perhaps there is just some confusion going on and the rest of the series will continue with different characters (after all, there is a long, long time gap to burn through), but the current talk is that the "saga" is supposedly over.
Xenosaga I+II DS looks visually comparable to the PS2's Namco X Capcom which was released in Japan this past May, but has not come to the states. According to the magazine, a "PF System" has been put into the battle system to make it more DS friendly.

I'm not very happy with the direction Namco has taken with the series. _________________

I'm a bit more concerned that they're actually ending it with the next game. I mean... There's so many loose ends... Xenosaga 2 tied up about 1/4th as many as it leaves, and now there's Xenosaga 3... AND THAT'S THE END.
Unless they bombard you with storyline, I'm expecting a game that will leave you with 'WTF' feelings afterwards. Though they made KOS-MOS uncreepy again, which is cool. Although the costumes make me think this is going to turn out more like "Xenosaga II-2". Hopefully they don't decide to hold a concert in the middle of nowhere for no coherent reason... _________________

Same here actuallly. I guess I can't speak much for part II since I haven't played it, but 1 just didn't rock me as hard as I expected a Xenogame to. It was fun; it was enjoyable; it was worth playing, but in the not much more so than your average RPG.
I stil can't figure out whether I'm sad about the series ending or not. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

yea, Monolith.
The series had so much potential, it's just too bad. I'll always have Xenogears tho. They just can't live up to a game that dynamic. _________________

So many things have just been too screwed around with. Like one of the original script writers (maybe both) being fired. Whoever thought that up was an idiot. So yeah, it's tended to deviate horribly from the original vision apparently. I also am unsure what I think about it ending. On the one hand, I say kill it now before it kills itself and on the other I really have NO clue how they plan to wrap up all the shit they started at this point.
Edit: For clarification the writers I talk of did the original Xenogears and Xenosaga I. _________________

exaclty. Unless they plan on making this game a "FULL" 2 DVD event I don't see how they can wrap up things so smoothly. But then it's bad ether way. If they rush things it's going to blow...and if they load it with dialogue it's going to annoy me so yeah......
...NOT happy.... |

I've played part 1, and 2 and now to here that its concluding with the 3rd installment, quite frankly this sucks *&%$ to put it lighty. Just like what Q said they better end up making the 3rd one long enough to make sense of things, but not long enough to confuse things more....well good luck monolith.....*keeps fingers crossed* _________________

...Course, in the event they resume on PS3 with different characters and a story that didn't suck (which is likely since it'd be closer to Xenogears), I'd certainly be happy. I guess the liklihood of resuming is small.
Wouldn't it be funny if we discussed the series like it was over, but the part that's over is just this portion of the saga, so all the english news sites got all flustered over nothing? _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

very cool...not much on it yet but nice looking...
Kinda scares me though, how the third part is already in the works so fast when they JUST announced that it will be the end of the project. I really hope this last one doesn't crash and burn...it all seems too pushed like they're trying to make a quick buck off the game or something. |

Ubb upupupupup
We don't *officially* know that it's the end of the *project* yet. We just know that Shion and company won't be around anymore after this one, which we might have assumed anyway, since it's supposed to span like 10,000 years...
Just wait a bit. I'll bet we haven't seen the last of this series. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

| ohhhh well if you look at things that way, makes perfect sense. They all can't live that long anyway lol. Maybe they mean they'll continue the rest of the series on the PS3. |
