Solice and I usually meet up with a group of friends at a local bar that has at least 4 HDTV's on each wall and they are all tuned into the fights. I have no idea what anyone else does.

For fights outside of the UFC, I have HDNet which shows almost all the Japanese and some of the American MMA events. If you ever get a chance, try to find a DREAM or World Victory Road event on the internet. DREAM is the closest thing to PRIDE that any of us are going to get these days.

A google search and a little detective work will let you find any number of ways to stream the UFC and any other fights live. If you have a good enough internet connection you can even get it in high def.

Solice was talking about who was favored in some of the fights, so I thought I'd post the betting odds for anyone who is interested.

Brandon "The Truth" Vera -190
Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski +150

Gabriel "Napao" Gonzaga -375
Chris Tuchscherer +285

Mark Munoz -225
Nick Catone +185

Marcus Aurelio -155
Evan Dunham +125

Keith Jardine -145
Thiago Silva +115

Ed Herman -120
Aaron Simpson -110

Todd Duffee -175
Time Hague +145

Mike Russow -285
Justin McCully +225

Chris Leben -150
Jake Rosholt +120

Nate Marquardt -200
Demian Maia +155

Randy Couture -190
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira +155

No outstanding odds for the entire card. but there are some chances to win a couple bucks.

Those are some very close odds. I really don't see this card being that good, but the last time I said that (Couture vs Lesner) every single fight was awesome. Heres to hoping.

There certainly was a lot of quick knockouts last night. Some one on another forum said it looked like some one was just airing exhibition matches of UFC: Undisputed.

**Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet**

WOW @ Randy vs. Minotauro

Both of them looked great, though when on the ground Randy's attack plans were clearly neutralized by Nogueira's jiu jitsu. If Randy'd been knocked out, I'd have said it was definitely time to retire again, but since he took the shots he did and escaped what he did and landed enough blows of his own (at least while standing), I say he can give it another go. What a guy.

If anyone was gonna beat'em, I'm glad it was Nogueira, who was a supercool coach on The Ultimate Fighter. At least there was that.

And The Dean got KTFOd FAST. Never saw that coming at all.

Great night of fights, all around. Really some fantastic matches. I thought UFC 101 was kinda boring outside of Griffen-Silva, but UFC 102 was highly entertaining.

Oh also Leben looked like ass.

This

Nog/Couture was exactly the fight that everyone was hoping for and is the fight that the heavyweight division has needed for a long ass time.

Nog's sweeps = epic-world-win for Brazil.

The Nog-Couture fight made the entire card worth it. Hell, it even made me forget about how god awful the Vera-Skyslnzskynzichnzski fight was. I really think they sucked all the boring out of the immediate area, thus making the rest of the fights ok.

Ball-crushingly good.

From MMAJunkie.com:

"What was expected to be an intriguing bout between UFC veteran Gabriel Gonzaga and highly experienced UFC newcomer Chris Tuchscherer immediately got off to a rough start – especially for the UFC rookie, who took a direct and thunderous kick to the cup in the opening seconds of the heavyweight fight. A few minutes would pass, and Tuchscherer, who nearly threw up from the pain, would have to convince a group of officials he was OK to continue.

It proved to be a bad decision.

After apologizing for the low blow, Gonzaga immediately unloaded on the obviously still-ailing Tuchscherer. A big left kick immediately dropped the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy fighter, and Gonzaga followed with a steady stream of abuse in the way of strikes and submission attempts. By the time local referee Dave Hagen mercifully called a halt to the action at the 4:27 mark of the opening frame, Tuchscherer was a battered and bloodied mess who never came close to recovering from the initial groin strike.

"The [groin kick] definitely affected the fight," Gonzaga admitted. "This happens in the sport, but I wasn't looking to hurt him that way. But he's a real tough guy to come back from that."

Although surely not a win he can fully celebrate, Gonzaga moves to 11-4 (7-3 in the UFC) with the victory and is 4-1 in his past five fights. Tuchscherer drops to 17-2 in his rough UFC debut."

Even with a cup on, getting a kick in the manrack is srs f---ing bzn. I can't imagine getting one from Gonzaga. Christ, I hope Tuchscherer has as many kids as he's ever gonna want...

For everybody who has ever enjoyed a Chris Leben fight

Also, this.

And just for craps & laughter.

I'm really hoping these work. They won't come up on our work computers, but they should at home. If they don't, then just disregard.

When he got choked out by Jason McDonald, it was a lot more gross looking. It looked like McDonald was going to tear Leben's head off. But this was just awful because of the twitching.

Yeah, the convulsions totally sell it. I wish I could run the torrent while I'm at the office. It's taking too long to download and I wanna watch it NAO! I wish UFC wasn't so tight-assed with their video or put that shit on Hulu or something...

Yeah I got a little sick there for a minute after seeing Leben twitch.

Speaking of getting hurt:
I dislike Ed Herman in general, but I gotta admit his fight was entertaining as hell -- loved those head kicks from the bottom he was trying. SO like him or hate him, I hop his injury doesn't sideline him for too long.

Man, that Marquardt KO looked WAY more vicious from the front angle!

Leben twitch coming up next! I'm never watching one of these things live again. All the bs cut out makes this way more better!
