Just watched episode 1. Simply awesome. Following the book very nicely.

I wonder just how much of the fijucked up shit they will wind up showing. They chop the heads off of dogs and murder and rape children. In fact a child murder is probably coming up in the next episode. The Hound rules.

Episode 2 was good but the pacing was a bit off.

I enjoyed the Dire Wolf action.

I thought it was kind of a slow episode. But that's what you expect out of HBO shows. You have to have an engaging pilot (check) and then you have to spend the next 4-5 episodes building towards the dramatic twists and turns. It's fun watching these episodes and seeing all these characters, then thinking "Ah, basically 90% of you will be dead in like 20 episodes!" Oh and Dany's little love maid (Was it Dorhea?) is flippin HOT. That bitch needs to show some titties already. You know it's gonna happen.

Maybe they will show her naked next season when she dies of starvation and disease. I really can't wait til next season to be honest. The books really start picking up from Clash onwards.

This first book has plenty of good stuff yet to come.

Spoiler:

Not everyone dies during the books but, yes, very many do die.

Ha, that character is basically a nonentity. I wouldn't spoil anyone with anything important. Seriously, I can't even remember her name and she gets maybe 4 more lines in the entire series.

Half way through the season. What do we think? There have been a lot of slow parts and the show is clearly building to a vicious final few episodes, but I'm wondering if those watching it who don't know what happens next care at this point. I feel like the show has drug by at times and some of these actors are not cutting it. I like Tommy Carcetti in The Wire. I'm not sure I like that actor as much playing Littlefinger.

I will say, Peter Dinklage (sp?) is killing it as Tyrion. Best character in the books, best on the show so far.

Show is great. Quit your bitching. This week's episode is an early front runner for best hour of television we're likely to see in 2011.

I'm trying real hard to finish listening to the book in the next couple of weeks so I can stay caught up to where the show is but at this point, the show has been as good or better than the book in every regard so I won't really mind if I can't stick with it.

They really are doing a good job with it. I hate the actress they got to play Cersei. Her f---ing facial expressions have not changed once since the show started.

Talking about your dead child? Look pensive. Talking to your kingly husband about your loveless marriage? Pensive. Discussing courtly intrigue? Pensive. Telling your son to fuck whores and explaining how to rule? Pensive. Threaten the Hand of the King? Pensive. f---ing your brother? Pensive, but open your mouth.

Its just so f---ing distracting. She constantly looks like she is about to fart but is holding it in.

Cersei is Sarah Connor from the Terminator show that recent got shitcanned. She is literally one of the worst actresses on the face of the planet.

It's obviously Jimmy Smitts of NYPD Blue fame.

Ding ding! Best possible answer there.

This show would definitely be better if Smits were playing Cersei. I'm just picturing the character he played in Dexter roaming the castle ordering Pycelle around with a glass of whiskey in hand then having staring contests with Ned.
