| Quote: | | Agreed. I fully expected to get lost in the storyline and not know what the hell was going on by the midpoint. Not the case. Fun movie to watch. The only ambiguity was of course the very end and even then I have no problem with just assuming it was all real at the end unless I see something in the second go around that convinces me otherwise. |
Yeah, I heard a lot of people going WTF about the storyline. If you paid attention they give you all the little details that you needed to know to know what was going on later.
Some spoilers below:
The only issues I had were the "limbo" factor and the convenience of everyone except Leo not knowing that was a possibility once they went that deep.
The ending was a classic move. The totem definitely seemed like it was slowing down and going to fall just before they cut it but the other problem is that his kids look EXACTLY the same as his memories that he made up... They are wearing the same clothes and everything so that's a little strange too. I don't mind the up in the air endings. _________________

Just saw Inception.
Fantastic film. I'm a sucker for the subject of dreams and stuff. Like what you can do in them, going into other peoples', where they come from, their makeup, etc.
Knew nothing about it going in, which I tend to like, and I was blown away.

Yeah the fact that the "This was in the movie" bits account for about 10% of the line is a problem.
I'm all for subtlety -- that's fine. I'm all for not having to explain EVERY single detail, but dude, this plot could be compared to:
Guy1: "What's that in my garage?"
-Jump cut-
Guy1, now with beard and dirty shirt: "I can quit any time I waaaant!"
And you're like "Wait, what happened in between? Did he get addicted to drugs? Is that even the same guy? There's so much missing. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

I'd never heard of Primer so I looked it up on Wikipedia.
I think what is often overlooked in science fiction is that scientists and experimenters are not amoral jerks. They have their own version of morality based on the type of natural order of their scientific point of view. It would probably lead to pursuing personal gain at first but that's just the beginning. _________________ "What's that powder he's putting in our dinner?" |

You guys should watch Source Code. It's like Primer only not the worst movie ever made. _________________

Yeah I only heard of that when looking for movies to download for a friend in the hospital, Googling "DVD release list" to look for recent drops. Gonna watch it soon.
I watched a Chinese movie "Red Cliff" yesterday. 20 minutes of good movie accompanied by an hour and 40 minutes of nonsensical crap. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

What's that from?
Also Janelle and I re-watched the first Kill Bill last night. Will do the second soon. They don't go black and white for that scene in the club in Tokyo. It was interesting. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |
