| Code: | MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Mexico's Congress on Friday approved a bill decriminalizing possession of small quantities of marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine and even heroin for personal use, prompting U.S. criticism that the measure could harm anti-drug efforts.
The only step remaining was the signature of President Vicente Fox, whose office indicated he would sign the bill, which Mexican officials hope will allow police to focus on large-scale trafficking operations rather than minor drug busts. |
Yes. We need to take a cue from Mexico and get with the motherspelunking program. The only reason it's a problem to begin with is the fact that it's illegal. Take away that, and most of the appeal to do it is gone. Plus, I don't have to spend all of my tax dollars keeping people in jail just for fricking SMOKING.
Props to Mexico. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

Where do they think people are buying these small quantities from? Making personal use quantities legal but banning their sale doesn't seem like a very capitalistic thing to do. On the plus side, this is going to make it a lot easier for people to destroy their lives with heroine and coke... I'd say a good wake up call for any addict is that initial arrest for getting caught with your "meds" and if the addicts don't have that anymore, they're just going to remain on the street using. Darwinism at its absolute best.
Here's my plan for a better tomorrow: Legalize all harmful substances and narcotics but only if users sign a registry and waiver and order them sterile to help clean out the gene pool. Then all we'll need is to instate mandatory gladitorial combat into the prison systems and we're f---in set. _________________

| I completely agree, LiQuid. But if we did that, what would happen with you? (not a burn, or sarcasm, just an honest thought) |

Ehhh...I'm gonna have to disagree, of course.
I think drugs and narcotics should be made legal for recreational or medical or any other reason users can think of. If someone wants to fuck up their own lives it isn't the job of the government to stop them. It's their body and they have every right to do whatever the hell they want to it. The caveat being that if anyone harms anyone elses property, someone elses body being classified as property. The second someone, whether high or sober, does that they get the book thrown at them hardcore style.
Possibly even gladitorial style, I always thought that was a good idea to implement into our judicial system. _________________

How exactly is that disagreeing with anything anyone's said? I agree with you completely. Though I only made the distinction that the low lives who choose to destroy their bodies with drugs shouldn't be breeding... Not only are they not fit to raise children, they're usually fugly as all hell, so we don't really need those kind of kids in the world...
SMX: What do you mean? The only illegal narcotic I use is the occasional bowl of pot with my friends. I dropped acid a few times in high school but grew out of that quick. I've never even done shrooms or coke or heroine or hell even ecstasy or hard pain meds. I'm a lightweight. _________________
