its extremely hard for me to get even mildly excited about an NIS strategy rpg... it seems like the moment a new one comes out, the next is announced... with slight improvements. it's hard to decide which ones to get, where to invest, etc.
and in all honesty, why is that game a PS3 title? the only reason i can see is so it can be considered "next gen" and more casual gamers might pick it up bc its on a current platform- not that there's anything wrong with that, im just saying that judging simply from those two screens, theres nothing on there that cant be PS2 _________________

Actually, they've got a useless program running in the background designed solely to eat processing power. It accomplishes nothing, but those strings of prime numbers look pretty if you AR it and find the list generated. In that fashion, it does not function on PS2 _________________ H-E-S-T-E-R is a long, convoluted joke. |

NIS: We will make Disgaea 3! And for PS2, so all of the installed user base of PS2 and all series fans can play it!
Sony: Are you SURE you don't want it to be PS3?
NIS: Yes! Look, with these sprites, it can be done on PS2 easily, and the deveopment process on that machine is routine for us by now.
Sony: *Opens a brief case full of money* Are you suuuuuure it's not PS3-bound?

Oh noes! The graphics don't look next-gen, therefore it can't be on a next-gen console!
I can obviously see where you guys are coming from, but isn't that a little obnoxious? That's the same reason idiots lambast the Wii. Graphics aren't the only thing that uses processing power. Look at next-gen Katamari. It looks the same as the PS2 and PSP games...but the consoles allow it to cut load times, be much bigger and so forth.
Granted, it's a little tricky to see how Disgaea could incorporate that power into the gameplay, but don't say it can't happen. |

If that's the game you're counting on to buy on your PS3... That's pretty sad man. _________________

Well, at this point in time, the PS3 lineup in general is also pretty sad, heh. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you. |

True, but the Wii also has the Wiimote so it feels less unnecessary. If, say, Twilight Princess Wii version was the exact same as the GameCube version and even made you plug in a GameCube controller to play it AND they took away the GC version, that would be a little ridiculous. I'm not saying it's that ridiculous, but I'm having a hard time thinking of any reason this could have to be a PS3 game rather than a PS2 game which could run on all those PS2s in the world and PS3 too through the miracle of backwards compatibility. _________________

Why in the hell would Sony concern itself with this game? It's considered a whopping success for having combined sales of maybe a couple hundred thousand worldwide. Not exactly a system pusher.
BTW: looks like shit. |

Earlier today, in taking a lap around the internet, I saw a lot of comments in the vein of, "Uh oh, looks like I have to buy a PS3," "Well shit, I kinda want a PS3 now," "Good thing the PS3 dropped its price," etc.
Plus, there's strength in numbers, and Disgaea 3 would be a good addition to an eventual counter-list to the gripe "But there are no RPGs on that thing!" Sony has all the reason in the world to want this thing on PS3. |

I was just going to comment on something like that only instead I was going to say:
Wow I wonder what pathetic animu nerds would buy the ps3 just for this chittyshittybangbang ass game. Probably the same people that masturbate to Etna fan art. _________________
