Medvedev has repeatedly called for creating a mix of regional reserve currencies as part of the drive to address the global financial crisis, while questioning the U.S. dollar’s future as a global reserve currency. ...Russia...’s proposals for the G-20 meeting in London in April included the creation of a supranational currency. |

Well, it's also coming from ...Russia.... Using what we know about ...Russia..., (i.e., Medvedev is Putin's puppet and Putin is definitely an evil power hungry bastard on a level few American politicians throughout history could aspire to, there is an ulterior motive here. I doubt it has anything to do with actually setting a new world currency in place, and more to do with making waves with it. Also, parading something like that around must make them look less uber-nationalistic and separatist.
