Covenants are special clubs. some allow you access to special spells or armor. Each covenant has missions you made need to do. Most of them really are made for PVP. _________________ "The teen passed out during the ceremony and the town decided to drown the cow." |

You didn't join him. He's there so you can abandon covenants or absolve your sins should you betray a covenant or attack an NPC.
The covenants I can think of are:
Way of the White: For pussies that are afraid of being invaded. Miracles from other members of the covenant will effect your player sometimes.
Forest Hunters: Get summoned to invade the defilers of the forest (Don't join until you've done everything you need to there)
Gravelord Servant: Get a cool sword, and some damage miracles. PvP aspect is broken.
Chaos Servant: Get some cool Pyromancies and open up a new shortcut.
Something to do with Dragons: Invade other Dragons and get their scales. Transform into a dragon with rank.
Darkwraiths: I forgot. Invade people probably.
Princess Guard: Get a couple miracles, gain the ability to teleport to other bonfires.
Moon Blades? : Invade the sinners. (And get Indicted) Cool sword I think.
Warriors of Sunlight: Lightning bolt miracles, you and your summon sign will have a golden glow.
I think that's all of them, actually. I don't know all the details to them, but if you're only to the gargoyles it'll be a while before you get a chance to join one of the cool ones. The fat guy at Firelink will let you join Way of the White. _________________ League of Legends |

He's using the Drake Sword so no, he earns no respect. _________________ League of Legends |

For a game that rewards you for exploiting it, really? Sounds like you're just sour because you'll never be as elite as OCDJapanMan. _________________

OK. So i refuse to use any guides or things like that on these games the first time through and I think i'm a little bit lost. I've killed the Moonlight Butterfly and the Hydra and found where to go to fight the giant wold with the sword. Is that my next stop?
List of things I've killed so far:
Taurus Demon
Bell Gargoyle
Capra Demon
Moonlight Butterfly
Hydra
Red Dragon (you can fight him on the bridge with melee!)
Speeking of the red dragon, is there a point to that bonfire that he was protecting? It opened up a small shortcut but didn't lead anywhere else for some reason. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

You're playing it wrong. You've gone completely backwards. You're supposed to start at the end and then work forward until you're upside-down. _________________ "The teen passed out during the ceremony and the town decided to drown the cow." |

The wolf is entirely optional. You'll get a ring that won't have any use to you until you've cleared Blighttown. Your next stop should be the depths, using the key you got from the Capra Demon; the door is downstairs from where you fought him. The guy at Firelink Shrine usually gives you hints about where to go.
That Balcony you accessed by beating the Drake only has significance as a shortcut unless you're trying to get into the Warriors of Sunlight. _________________ League of Legends |

If you refuse to use guides, how is that any different or worse than just asking someone straight up where to go next? _________________

Asking some one will give you just the answer you're looking for usually. With a guide I would be tempted to just sit down and read the entire walkthrough from beginning to end thus ruining some of the surprise and exploration for myself. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

I started a sorcerer character just to troll online. Disguised as a tree in the forest whenever I'm not playing, people invade constantly and after like 10 minutes of searching for me they commit suicide. It's great. _________________ League of Legends |
