What up fuckers?!?! Are you ready for the fastest game on ice?! Well welcome shitbirds to the shortened 2013 season featuring the as of yet undefeated Chicago Blackhawks!

Figured even though the board seems really dead we should have a place open so me and Mike can talk hockey while at work. Others may join.

Honestly, since the Blackhawks streak ended there hasn't been too much to talk about this season.

Roberto Luongo literally has a contract so good that it sucks.

Jamoir Jagr is so timeless that he's still a tradeable commodity.

Apparently, everyone wants to buy the Coyotes, but they can never seem to get the money when it's time to pay.

Detroit Redwings still suck.

I can't believe I didn't notice this thread until now.

Crosby got pucked in the face, shattered jaw, Pens officially out of cup contention.
Sure, sure, they'll make the playoffs, and sure, sure, I won't be surprised if they advance to the second round, but eh, they ain't gonna win it all with Crosby out for at least a month eating nothing but protein shakes.

Crosby and Marian Hossa are secretly the same person. Both of them get hurt thinking about the word "injury" and both of them are amazing when they do finally get on the ice.

Crosby is a bit more of a pussy though because Brent Seabrook took a puck to the face and played the next night. Then again, NHL defensemen aren't made of substances that humans can understand.

First round already underway! I had to work today so I missed all the games. Saw the highlights. Minnesota is so screwed without Backstrom and Pominville. Blues/Kings had a crazy finish that Quick's gonna have nightmares about. I feel bad for the guy, but he should be glad he doesn't play for a Canadian team whose fans would be far less forgiving.

Looking forward to seeing some games tomorrow cause it's Golden Week and I don't work.

I'm saying...
Chicago beats Minni
STL beats LA
Vancouver beats San Jose
Ducks beat Wings

Pens beat Isles
Bruins beat Leafs
Senators beat Montreal
Rangers beat Capitals

Ha! I was just emailing back and forth with Heath on the playoffs, then thought of this thread. Gotta love how it always manages to pop back up here. I just want to see PIT vs CHI in the Finals. Really, that's all I'm asking for. If I don't get that, I'm going to care significantly less about the Finals. We need a damn marquee matchup here to make up for the lockout and all the other bullshit the NHL puts its fans through.

Speaking of, time for a mini rant. I bought that online Gamecenter this year for the NHL season and What. A. Screw. Any game that is on any kind of TV channel gets blacked out (including the friggin NHL Network, which stupid Time Warner doesn't even offer unless you pay extra) and the playoffs are literally useless because every damn game is on some NBC subsidiary. What the hell is even the point of having an online game streaming app if I can't watch anything but Calgary/Colorado on a dumpy Tuesday night?

Oh and anything being broadcast locally is blacked out too. I'm moving out of the Buffalo area in a month, not getting cable where I move, and still I'm like Fuck it. I'll just watch games illegally all year. I love hockey, but I fucking hate the NHL as a business. Nothing but greedy dong slurpers who deserve to get clobbered by Brent Seabrook and that puck that's still probably lodged in his teeth.

If the Blackhawks play against the Penguins in the Finals this year, I'm declaring it the new greatest rivalry in sports. There's already a game set up for them to play at Soldier Field in 2014, adding the Finals and memories of '92 into the mix will just make it all the more amazing.

They're both set up for multiple Cup runs, so it's certainly in play. #1 D vs. #1 O. Almost too good to be true so I'm sure the Bruins will ruin it for everyone.

I started a beard last playoffs. Haven't shaved since. My life is better for it. Plus there's this! http://worldobserveronline.com/2013/04/15/beards-keep-you-young-healthy-handsome-says-science-2/

Man, I kind of hope they televise the alumni game for that one. Roenick and Eddie the Eagle vs. Mario and Barrasso: post-retirement edition. Would be interesting enough for me to tune in.

I don't care what their seed placement is, Detroit just has this way of not being an easy out. Zetterberg and Datsyuk (spelling?) are nuts to watch. They still blew a 3-goal lead in the third though. The no-Lidstrom Wings are different.

I always thought they were one and the same.

Heath Hindman buys things and then writes about them on RPG Land. So, both!

...And if it brought it more than $4 a year, it would happen more often. Sad

You should sign up for Bing rewards. I started doing it ironically last summer but it has turned into an easy $10 a month worth of Amazon gift cards that I get just by spam searching the internet once a day. Takes literally 2 minutes or less. As an unemployed loser, it's comforting knowing that I have a growing nest egg I can dip into every time a game comes out that I absolutely have to play.

PIT/NYI is legit. The last two games have been awesome and honestly the Islanders have been the better team for most of it. I'm also really impressed by what I've seen of STL/LAK. Genuine loathing between the two teams, and tons of hits. Basically a cleaner, better version of that mess between MTL/OTT. Grow up, dudes. Canadian teams...

Yeah I love how MTL became the goon squad this postseason. Therrien back to crybaby antics that I hated even when he was coaching the Pens. Never liked that guy.

Ugh. I forgot to shave the night before the playoffs began so I'm going at this thing with a full beard. And of course, every team is going to draw this shit out as long as possible.

Gonna be a mountain man mid-June!
