We've been in sore need of an MMA thread for a long time here. Seems like several of us enjoy it but we don't have a thread for it.
Here be the official thread of Strikeforce, K1, Pride, UFC, World Extreme Cagefighting, Dream, knockouts, chokes, arm bars, ground-and-pound, leg locks, takedowns, hooks, jabs, half-guard, uncomfortably long close-ups of celebrities in the crowd, and all that good stuff.
Just watched a replay of UFC 101 the other day and man, Forrest is a tough dude, but he was on the receiving end of one of the most embarrassing KO's I've seen.
I wonder what the result of Silva vs. Machida would be, if perhaps Anderson Silva was given the chance to claim 2 belts. Might be a boring fight though, kinda like Evans vs. Machida, where both of them spent too much time waiting and not enough time attacking. Hmm.
Watched the WEC shows recently too. It was the first time I could see that, since I can't find a way to get the Versus channel in Japan. Saw Miguel Torres lose his belt, which was surprising, because my dad had previously shown me some of his highlights and they'd said he was riding a 17-fight win streak. Crazy.
God bless MMA. _________________ If you buy stuff from Play Asia, help support RPG Land. Thank you.

You might as well just sticky this thread because I'm going to probably constantly post on it.
Also, Idin isn't allowed to post on this thread. |

I really do love MMA, but I don't have cable so I never get to watch it, excepting the rare occasions when my friends order a PPV and throw a party.
Also, it seems like my favorite fighters are always losing. Not that I really put myself behind anybody 100%. I'm way more interested in seeing an exciting or technical fight than I am ever seeing one guy dominate. _________________

Nevermind. I had a series of jokes lined up. But i don't feel like continuing them.
Anyway, tonight was the first time in a long time i missed any major fight card. But from what i read, the only fight worth watching was the Babalu vs Mousasi fight.
Now I'm gonna make up for it by watching some K-1. |

Quoting for truth!
Heres the two title fights for you guys:
Gegard Mousasi VS Renato Sobral
Carano VS Cyborg _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

Don't ever post a video of women doing man things again. That was disrespectful. _________________

If you weren't paying attention, that was clearly a man beating a woman. _________________ H-E-S-T-E-R is a long, convoluted joke. |

If I ever needed a reason to be glad that i'm not getting Showtime anymore, that was it.
Mousasi/Sobral ended kinda how I expected and exactly how Mousasi said it would.
Carano/Cyborg was like watching 5 minutes of two tired, old men fight. Honestly, it looked like Cyborg was going easy on the punches because I've seen her throw bombs that look like they could KO "Minotauro" Noguiera.
I swear, Mauro Ranaollo has been announcing fights for over 10 years and he still sounds like he just found out what MMA stood for 30 minutes before they went on the air. i don't know who the other 2 guys announcing were, but they weren't any better.
If Strikeforce really does have an exchange deal going with FEG/DREAM, then the first thing they need to do is fire those three guys and get Michael Schiavello (K-1 announcer) and Bas Rutten to call the fights. |

To be fair, they weren't doing the man thing very well at all. Its not every day you see a professional fighter stand up out of mount. _________________ "True to the bullet pith on the enclose, Rocksmith allows you to beat the drum for legitimate hither any electric guitar into the proprietary USB chain that comes with the encounter..." - NEERGENCE, 12/02/2011 |

It's the fear of accomplishment and progress that drive some women to do that. The shear hatred of victory. |
