Konami, in a press release, promised the "Longest Suikoden storyline ever with fully voiced-over cut scenes, multiple endings, storyline branches and unimaginable plot twists," whether this is true or not remains to be seen.

I personally think it will be amazing.

My EB had the artbooks/CD in today for those qho preordered. Just a heads up, you may want to call and check if they have it before they give them all away.

It's pretty sweet, and the music on the CD definately gives the impression that the soundtrack to the game will be good.

One thing i noticed is that there are many mistakes in the artbook. I mean, what is CLEARLY the True Water Rune is marked as the True Fire Rune. The True Fire Rune, is marked Dragon Rune, etc... It's like the fijucked up the whole page. Even still, depite these mistakes this is a sweet preorder bonus. I can't wait until the game comes out this wednesday.

I preordered over Gamestop since EBgame's site doesn't seem to mention the bonuses at all...

i actually had it preordered both at an EB store, and online with Gamestop. Since my EB got it in, i just cancelled my online order. I was thrown off by that too.

I just checked my order status at ebgames.com. Even though it doesn't mention it on the game's page my order status has the promo art book added to the order so I'm assuming they'll be sending me one. If not I'll call em up and bitch.

I got my copy today, and though the packing slip said I had the promo artbook (which I believe includes the soundtrack as well), I didn't get it, so I sent an email of complaint to Gamestop.

Yeah, my friend didn't get his artbook from Gamestop either. They sent him a Katamari bag instead or something.

I've played it a lot so far. I've played about seven hours so far, and i have to admit taht while i'm loving it, the ratio of dungeons to town exploration/story is pretty lobsided. You get plenty of chances to explore the huge towns, but every dungeon i've gone to so far only lasts 10-15 minutes. And there's only been a few of those.

This isn't a complaint, as it's obvious they're building up towards something huge relatively early in the game, and i know that this is supposed to be the largest Suikoden to date.

In short: I love the game. It feels every bit like Suikoden, and does a great job feeling fresh too. The skill setup is sweet; though only being able to equip 2 skills at a time is a bit weak.

I'd just advise everyone to be patient. These 7 hours haven't been boring at all, but it is light on the dungeon crawling so far. I just figured it'd be good for you all to go in knowing to expect this.

Yeah, I've heard about how it supposedly starts off slow, but I'm used to that sort of thing (i.e. Dragon Warrior VII).

I unfortunately won't get to start on the game until Friday (I'm a bit busy until then).

Suikoden III started slow too. And I kinda thought the first one did, too. I never played 4, but it seems the same way, from what people say. I'm not surprised by this.

True enough. especially if you start with Geddoe, which i did. I like Geddoe, but his first chapter is insanely long, and boring.

I'm at 10 hours now, and i'll say that something big has happened, and the same crisis-type feel of past Suikoden's has returned. Great stuff.

IGN says this game has 11 different ending. I think I feel that ROCKS! Finally going to have a worthwhile reason to utilize the new game+ feature they've been so kind to throw us lately...
