Top 5 Most Anticipated RPGs – October

By Heath | October 14, 2010 at 10:34 pm

The internet has spoken.  This website has listened and added its own twenty-two cents.  As of right now, these are the most anticipated RPGs.(Note: all games on this and future lists must actually be officially announced, so we can’t put stuff like “Final Fantasy XXX” or “World of Warcraft 2,” even though that would be awesome.

5) Mass Effect 2 (PS3)
The internet had a meltdown when this was announced as PS3-bound, so it’s no surprise that we’re getting peppered with votes for it and people all over the place are clammoring for it. Check Michael’s review of the 360 version here.
Ninokuni
4) Fable III (PC, 360)
It made a good impression on us at the Tokyo Game Show, and it’s generating lots of hype. Some have countered the hype with a bit of anti-hype, saying that the first two games were big disappointments. Despite that, a lot gamers are buzzing about the next Fable.

3) Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)
“This is the true Final Fantasy XIII to me.” -Brent L., via email.

2) Ninokuni (PS3)
For Heath and Janelle, this is the #1. It completely stole the show, and our hearts (cheesy!) at the Tokyo Game Show.
Ninokuni
1) Fallout: New Vegas (PC, 360, PS3)
Basically all votes that came from Twitter had this game listed. One noted, “OK wby me to take things from FO3 cuz that game’s awesome.” Well said, internet poet. Our own Andrew Foltz is looking forward to his “task” of reviewing it with Christmaslike glee.

New Vegas and Fable III come out this month, while Versus XIII and Ninokuni are far, far away.  Mass Effect 2 for PS3 will be out in early 2011.
