E3: Uncharted Waters Online westward bound

CJ Internet and Tecmo KoeiGameshave announced that their long standing MMO based around the classic Uncharted Waters game will finally be making its way out west to “God’s country” after over 3 years online in the lands closer to the rising sun and my ol’ stomping ground Korea.   Set between the 15th and 17th centuries, the game promises the chance to conquer the hundreds of neutral cities to ensure that their chosen nation becomes the world’s leading power to influence all others. Players will be able to buy or build their ships giving them the opportunity to completely customize their look and feel.

RPG Deals 6/13 – 6/19

Dragon Warrior Land enters beta phase

Our old buddy Tim has been hard at work developing an MMORPG set in an “alternate universe” tipping its hat to the Dragon Quest series. This 2D online adventure has the working title of “Dragon Warrior Land” and can be checked out at its official website. While still in development and testing, the game promises a main story as well as many sidequests, customizable player housing, and a balance between party and solo play. This is being made by the man who once taught me everything there was to know about Ultima Online, so I trust he knows a thing or two about what makes a quality MMORPG. Check it out and apply for the beta.

Yakuza 4 going international, hostess clubs playable

Sega has announced on its blog site that Yakuza 4 (called Ryu Ga Gotoku 4 in Japan) will receive European and North American localizations in the Spring of 2011, about a year after its Japanese release.   And, perhaps in response to complaints about Yakuza 3‘s localized versions, that hostess clubs are playable.
