Final Fantasy IV: The After Years comes to Japanese Wiiware

Formerly only available on Japanese cell phones, the first part of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was recently released to the North American audience as a Wii download. What goes around comes around, and on July 21, the game will be released for Japanese Wii gamers as well. Scans:

NISA news bundle: Sakura Wars, Atelier Annie, Phantom Brave, Disgaea 3

Nippon Ichi Software’s American publishing branch made several announcements today, including its plans to release Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love as a two-disc set. Each disc of the game, bound for Wii and PlayStation 2, will contain a different language track — one English, the other Japanese. When it ships this winter, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love will sell for $39.99.

Western RPG classic Daggerfall becomes free download

After years of being pined after and re-re-rediscussed (in places including our own forums), Bethesda Softworks has made Daggerfall a free download. There are some disclaimers, however, including the fact that since the game is ass-old, there are no gaurantees it will work with a given machine and Besthesda can’t be providing tech support for a 13-year-old, now-free game. Download it and/or read up on how to (probably) make it work on your machine right here.
