Star Wars: The Old Republic video

Bioware has recently released a short behind the scenes video for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the upcoming MMORPG based on the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic time line.  The video includes some early gameplay footage as well as developers interviews discussing some game elements they plan to implement.

A Tale in the Desert IV launches

A Tale in the Desert, RPGLand’s 2006 MMO of the year, is set to begin it’s next tale, number IV, December 13 at 12:00 EST.  This will mark the fourth 18-month installment of the niche MMO.  Teppy, the developer and former “Pharaoh” has announced that this tale will begin with the death of the Pharaoh.  Some known new features are an upgrading mining system and a expanded ecosystem.

Dragon Quest X goes to Wii, IX dated

At a media event in Japan Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest X will be developed for the Wii.  No details where given if this would be a Wii exclusive title.

During the same event, Dragon Quest IX was dated for a March 28 Japanese release date.

NISA to localize PSP version of Mana Khemia

NIS America released the PS2 version of Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al Revis in North America this past April, and today, the company announced it will bring the PSP version in January of 2009. It’s mostly a straight port, but developer Gust added some multiplayer functionality and a “jump start” function which allows part of the game to be saved to one’s memory stick, for faster loading.

My World, My Way coming stateside via Atlus USA

My World, My Way in an RPG for Nintendo DS to be released on Feb. 3, 2009 by Atlus USA. Known as Sekai wa Atashi de Mawatteru (The World Revolves Around Me) in Japan, this game is all about changing one’s surroundings. Limited reprint of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment

With Persona 3 having launched the Shin Megami Tensei series into much high popularity levels than it had been used to in North America, Atlus USA is about to reprint Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Richard Garriott makes like a tree and gets out of NCSoft

After returning from his lifelong dream of visiting space, he did so in a trip to the International Space Station, Richard Garriott, the creator of the classic PC RPG series Ultima, and more recently NCSoft’s Sci-fi MMORPG Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, is leaving NCSoft.  Garriott said news of his departure is “difficult” to deliver.

Garriott left the atmosphere in the private Soyuz TMA-13 rocket, in October, following months of rigorous training. He was gone for ten days.
