Radio

RPG Land has just created two web-based radio stations dedicated to playing the video game tunes we know and love. To hear live, streaming mp3’s from your favorite games and anime, RPG Land Radio is the way to go. The two stations run in the same vein, but have different purposes.

RPG LAND CLASSICS: This station is dedicated to bringing back those warm and fuzzy feelings you’ll never admit you have when hearing melodies from the RPGs you grew up with. While a couple of newer tunes are in there, this station mainly serves to provide a nostalgia trip to the 8 and 16 bit eras, with some PlayStation generation stuff to boot.

RPG LAND STANDARD (NOTE: THIS STATION IS CURRENTLY DOWN, AND WON’T BE UP AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS): The second station is like a reverse of the first. The 16-bit RPGs are represented, but the song collection is primarily taken from 32-bit RPGs and newer, plus a decent showing from anime soundtracks. There’s also a couple of non-RPG tunes.

HOW TO LISTEN: To listen to either of these great stations, first open up a media player such as Winamp, Jet Audio, or Windows Media Player. Then, paste the appropriate address into the “play URL” or “open URL” function of the player–whatever you use to stream audio. (Example: with winamp, right click, go to “play,” then “URL,” then paste in the proper numbers.) For RPGLAND CLASSICS, put in http://rpglandclassics.servemp3.com.
For RPG LAND STANDARD (NOTE: THIS STATION IS CURRENTLY DOWN, AND WON’T BE UP AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS), plug http://rpglandstandard.servemp3.com into the player.

Of all media players, we’ve found Jet Audio and Winamp to work the best with these stations. Windows Media Player works alright, but it seems to take longer to buffer.

There are currently no strict schedules for these stations running, but both run whenever their respective DJs can have them up, so if it doesn’t work when you try it, you can always try back again later. Also keep in mind that if one doesn’t work, trying the other station couldn’t hurt.

If you have requests of tracks or games/anime you’d like to hear on our stations, or if you are having problems listening, please let us know!
