RPG Deals 11/6 – 11/12

By Russ | November 6, 2011 at 7:20 pm

Some new release deals and some old bargain titles are the focus of this week.  And the holiday advice begins sporadically.

K-Mart is offering a $15 coupon when a customer buys $40 worth of video games.  Another $35 coupon is available when $110 is spent.  A few notes, though: One, you must be a Shop Your Way rewards member.  Two, all amounts must be $40 or $110 before taxes.  Three, this deal can only be used up to $100 in coupons per account.  Four, this deal runs until November 23rd.

K-Mart has a ton of games at the $13 to $20 range.  Some titles are Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, Nier, and Folklore.  Not a bad selection, especially since there were others I can’t remember.

K-Mart also has a deal for SkyRim next week.

Toys R Us is giving out  a $15 gift card with the purchase of any game $59.99 or more, and a $40 gift card with the purchase of two games.

Target is offering a $10 gift card with purchases of SkyRim.

DC Universe is also free to play now.  Of course, it’s like a 16 gig download, but hey.

I was out and about shopping today, and dear sweet deity was traffic terrible.  Normally on a Sunday in this feeble part of the world I can drive about with little interference.  Today every texting mother and devout cell phone talker, along with some people who were probably drunk (drunkenness being a major pastime here) clogged the road in a matter most devout, as if not being able to travel on a Sunday would cost the populace their souls.  In short, it’s buyin’ time.  So my first advice for the year is thus:

Order your shit online.

Stop crowding the roads and streets and causing immense frustration .  Order gifts online and take a day off work to have it all shipped to you.  You can wrap the gifts while your loved ones are at work or school before cramming it away in whatever hidey-hole you use.  Today was bad enough to make it the last day I will be out and about hunting deals and Transformers for the year – and it’s only November 6.

If you must go out, combine the shopping with normal excursions to save time and money.  Check the newspaper/online for deals and plan ahead.  The object is to stress less and save time and cash.  And if you have to go out, be a safe and courteous drive whom obeys the law and good driving protocols.  Being four sheets to the wind or bitching to BFF Becca may be excellent times to relieve stress at home, but on the road it’s a very bad practice for what should be completely obvious reasons.  As weather conditions fluctuate between cold and deterioration, you’ll be thankful for that saved time/cash or for ordering shit online.  Or for not causing a terrible accident and turning into a piece of broccoli.

Seriously, use the internet.

Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Deals may stop and any time. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has the item before leaving the store. You might be able to get a raincheck. Many deals are in-store only, except where specified. This column brought to you by how much is that fine!?
