Bethesda announces new Fallout, likely to be inferior

Bethesda announced that a new Fallout game, Fallout: New Vegas. This new installment of the Fallout world, Bethesda said, would be an RPG similar to Fallout 3. It is unknown if the Fallout 3 engine will be used. Fallout: New Vegas, in a push for mediocrity, will be developed by Obsidian studios.
Apparently, Bethesda sequals developed by Obsidian (Neverwinter Nights 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2) have become quid pro quo. Generally not as good as the original, Fallout: New Vegas has a better than average shot of bucking the previous trends, with Fallout 2 veteran Feargus Urquhart leading Obsidian with the development of the new title.
