EA Merges with itself

In true EA business fashion it has merged with itself, combining two of its studios into one. BioWare and Mythic studios have now been combined to form a large RPG/MMO studio. This newly formed team will be led by Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder and general manager of BioWare. The company stated that, “With this change, Ray becomes group general manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Dr. Greg Zeschuk will become group creative officer. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray.”
The company also confirmed that Mythic co-founder and general manager Mark Jacobs has left EA yesterday. Rob Denton will assume the GM role at Mythic and report to Dr. Ray Muzyka.
The wording used by EA included: “a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare” and it is unknown currently whether Mythic and BioWare will be the only studios affected. Also not known is any possible name change.
EA has commented that each studio is continuing business as usual and this change has not changed the studios day to day operations as they continued to be run at separate locations.
