BOGOs – although they look so fine, it’s up to you if these are worth the dime.

K-Mart is offering a ‘buy one game get a second game half-off’ on select titles.  SkyRim is a title, but FPS and action games make up the rest.  We’ll pretend the new Assassin’s Creed game is an action RPG for column purposes.

Target is offering a $20 gift card when two select games are purchased.  Rage and SkyRim are two of those titles.

Toys R Us is offering a ‘buy 1 get a second title for 40% off’ on all Wii and 3DS games.

It’s pretty much a given between the PSN store and Amazon nearly all of your PSP RPG needs will be satisfied for around $20 a pop.

You can beef up on all your World of Warcraft needs for $80 this week at Amazon.

Last week I was all “buy your shit online!” and this week I’m all about the same thing.  But this week I’m going to tell you to be mindful of the prices of objects.  The Metal Gear Solid HD collection was recently released, and the special edition for the PS3 sold right the hell out before the title was released.  The title cost $80 retail, and now it’s worth about twice that as of this posting.  So let’s split this advice two ways.

1) If you are asking for a specific gift from a parent, loved one, or random passersby; please be precise with the item you are asking for and research the appropriate name and cost of the item.  This might sound chintzy, but arming people with knowledge will help ease frustration down the road.  It also might keep the gift giver from spending $160 as a “great gift idea” when you would have been more than satisfied with the $40 regular release of MGS.  Of course, most regular people would be more than happy to get the cheaper copy.

2)  If you are buying a gift and know jack about the gift, do some research.  Ask friends, loved ones, or perhaps the person who wants the gift more about the item.  If making the receiver happy is among your first and foremost thoughts, then this is the best way to go.  It may also save you from being sniped on e-bay so fiercely you receive the outbid message after the ‘you f—ing suck at winning!’ message.

This message is mostly brought to you by Metal Gear Solid‘s amazing aftermarket abilities.  I’m not interested in the title, but makes for a good example.

Happy Hunting.

Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Deals may stop and any time. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has the item before leaving the store. You might be able to get a raincheck. Many deals are in-store only, except where specified. This column brought to you by losing Titanium War Within Megatron buy one freaking dollar. F—ing e-bay snipers.
