RPG Deals 12/16 – 12/22

By Russ | December 16, 2012 at 12:12 pm

A few deals this week; mostly on systems. It seems system deals are a lot of what I post anymore.

K-Mart has 3DS XL systems for $160, and the latest Paper Mario for $30.

Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card with purchase of any Wi-Fi Vita.

Toys R Us is saving $20 on any 3DS system plus an additional $10 gift card when one is bought.  Additionally, it’s buy get one 40% off on all Wii games and games under $20.

Amazon.com will have  a video games Gold Box Deal on Tuesday. No word on what games will be a part of the deal.

Class of Heroes is $7.50 until Tuesday morning on the PSN store.

Next week is Christmas, so let’s talk about returns.  It’s not that a returned item is inevitable, it’s just that a returned item has a high chance of occurring for those who tend to buy stuff as it comes out.

Last week I talked about patience in line.  Please feel free to re-read the column.  It’s part of returning items.

So you’ll need: a receipt (gift or otherwise); the original item (still sealed if applicable); and a decent chunk of time (don’t do this on your half-hour break).  If you do not have any of these things, please get your hands on them.  It will be troublesome and/or frustrating for someone – perhaps even yourself – otherwise.  Many places will not take back an opened item or an item without a receipt, by the way.

Some stores may only do store credit with gift receipts, although that practices seems to be going to the wayside.  Gift cards cannot be returned.  If the item has been opened, the store will most likely swap it out with the same item.  Stores have the right to refuse open items for monetary return for what should be obvious reasons.  Beyond the above, that’s really it – just show some patience and have your materials ready to exchange.

Also, be kind – at this time of year kindness will get what you want quicker than being a jerk.

Happy Hunting.

Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Deals may stop at any time. Prices in each store may differ depending on location. You can try different stores to mitigate price differences, and always ask if a store has the item before leaving the store. You might be able to get a raincheck. Many deals are both in-store and online. This column brought to you by stuff.
