RPG Deals 11/3 – 11/9

Call of Duty releases this week so it’s crap all to the rest of the genres.
However, Toys R Us is offering a deal where customers can save $10 of a $60 game or $30 off two $60 games. TRU is offering free shipping for online orders.
Actually, I don’t think there’s a top-tier RPG release this winter. The past few years have seenĀ Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Borderlands titles. This year looks to be different. The new system releases certainly don’t help. I would imagine unless the title is a top-tier shooter any other games would get lost in the crowd.
It’s time to start the holiday advice for the year. Normally, the first piece of advice is to buy your shit online. Gas is pretty expensive and the amount of time saved is wonderful. There’s the whole avoiding people thing, too.
Having said that, the more important advice this year is to skip Christmas.
If you’re well off and have no money worries go ahead and do what you want. I’m truly envious of you, by the way. But if you dread Christmas because of the bills associated with it and the extra months – or year – it takes to pay off debt, then do not do it. Get everyone cards, a good meal, and use the lack of shopping to buy yourself some peace of mind. Got kids? if they complain, be honest with them. If they still complain, their gift is to have food and a roof. If the kids still complain, ask them if they want the gift of being beaten.
Personally, I hate Christmas. This is easy enough advice to spout, but I understand it’s hard advice to take. There are a lot of people who love Christmas despite its major financial and stress-related shortcomings. However, I still maintain taking a good long look at your situation and ask yourself what would be better. If not having Christmas, or rather, abstaining from buying gifts is better, than take that path. You might be doing yourself a favor in the long run.
Also, if your kids are asking for a PS4 or Xbox One; if you didn’t pre-order you are probably SOL until next year. Might make that decision easier.
Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Deals may stop at any time. Prices in each store may differ depending on location. You can try different stores to mitigate price differences, and always ask if a store has the item before leaving the store. You might be able to get a raincheck. Many deals are both in-store and online. This column brought to you by Christmas Fudge. Fudge Christmas. Fudge Christmas so Fudgin’ hard.
