Shop Watch July 2016

I know in Chrono Cross you fight the Time Devourer, but isn’t that what we all do?

If you don’t know what I mean, check out this month’s time-sinks.

Monster Hunter: Generations releases the second week of July. This massively popular obsession lands on Friday. A special edition New 3DS system will also be available for roughly five minutes.

Earlier that week is a series which hasn’t been released in North America until now. 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. This SEGA title feature dragons, time travel, and the ability to be overshadowed on Friday by Capcom. So, a typical SEGA title.

Speaking of time, I Am Setsuna will be released on the 19th for PC and PS4. Using Chrono Trigger‘s combat system and a massive mount of nostalgia fuel, I Am Setsuna promises to create an emotional journey for the player while transporting minds back to the golden age of RPGs. Me? I actually like CT‘s battle system and new game plus feature. Hopefully the latter will see some use as well.

The last week of July sees the PS4 re-release of Fairy Fencer F, and the next game in the Rogue-like series Shiren the Wanderer.

Some Advice? If you’re interested in that Monster Hunter 3DS, get it sooner rather than later. Realistically a lot of those special consoles don’t last long. The 7th Dragon title may be harder to find later a la Phantasy Star 0 for the DS. Keep an eye on Fairy Fencer and Shiren while you’re at it.

The Future: August looks to be quiet, and then September comes all in and wrecks butt.
