RPG Deals 1/8 – 1/14

$40 is what game should cost brand new, in my not-so humble opinion. </fedora>
In all seriousness, I would like to see model where the price drops once a title hits that sweet shipment number where the publisher’s bank account goes into the black. Triple A titles would be the best implementation of this. Realistically, current-year sports titles would be the most affected. Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed titles would likely fall into this category as well. Digital sales would have to factor in somehow as well (and I believe it was the now defunct PlayStation Magazine who once reported on actual price differences between physical and digital sales and how customers are greatly overcharged for buying digital); but imagine a reality where prices lowered due to the perceived demand for a title.
None of this would affect FFXV though, due to its 10 year development.
I stand corrected: Final Fantasy XV, World of Final Fantasy, and Skyrim: Special Edition are all $40 each this week at Best Buy. Fallout 4 is $20.
The latest Star Ocean title is still $20 on Amazon.
That’s it for this week. Happy hunting.
