Oblivion scores big in Famitsu

In May, it was announced that the 360 version of Bethesda’s open-ended RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would be make the trek across the Pacific and into the hands of Japanese gamers courtesy of Japanese publisher Spike.
Usually, Japan isn’t too friendly towards games developed in the west, however, Japanese gaming mag Famitsu gave Oblivion a surprisingly positive 38/40 score in its latest issue, which trumps scores given to Japanese games such as Kingdom Hearts, Blue Dragon, and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.
Oblivion is due out in Japan next week. North American gamers, however, will be able to pick up The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion – Game of the Year Edition for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in September.
