Some new details regarding the recently announced Final Fantasy IV sequel Final Fantasy IV The After – Return to the Moon have been released via a pair of new Japanese mag scans.
According to NeoGAF, the game, which features Cecil and Rosa’s son, will be set 17 years after the events of the original FF4. The game will sport SNES-like 2D graphics, and from what can be discerned from the scans, will reuse a lot of environments and sprites from FF4. Similarly familiar will be the game’s cast of characters, since many of them have likewise been yanked from FF4.
Japanese Final Fantasy fans will be able to give Final Fantasy IV The After – Return to the Moon a go this February when the first chapter of the game is released for DoCoMo mobile phones — yes, similar to other mobile title like The Third Birthday and Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, this game will be divided into episodic chapters.
