Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World announced for North America

When last month’s issue of Nintendo Power promised that an RPG “so fantastic, so engrossing, so epic, and so hush-hush that we’d have to erase your memories if we told you what it is” would debut in the next issue, it led to a lot of wild speculation. “Chrono Trigger 3!” “Mother 4!” people predicted, as if they live in a fantastical fairy land where wood nymphs prance through the countryside and distribute dollops of ice cream every morning.
Predictibly, the announcement in question was a lot less “fantastic.” According to this bloke at the GameTrailers forums Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk, renamed to Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, will be making the trip over to North America. Considering the success of the original Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube, this comes as no surprise.
It’s not currently known whether Nintendo will fund the localization of the game like it did for the original Tales of Symphonia, or if Namco Bandai will bust out the ol’ tin can microphones again for the localization process. It has, however, been confirmed that there are now way too many games that have “the new world” somewhere in their subtitles.
