A while ago, Disagaea 3‘s first downloadable add-on was revealed, which enabled one to recruit special characters with every playthrough. Michael Wayland reported that NIS America would be delivering some DLC to North American fans as well, on a monthly basis, but didn’t put a date on anything. More recently, Nippon Ichi laid out a more specific plan.
Starting June 27, Japanese Disgaea 3 players will get monthly updates until at least January of 2009. Only time and PR people will tell if the exact same updates will transfer to the American side of things. The download packs are not free, though they cost a meager 100 yen each (roughly one US dollar).? Without many content details firmly revealed, what is known about the download packs so far is:
June’s update: DLC includes extra character.
July and August: NIS will be working on a new ranking system.
Winter months: NIS plans to have new scenarios available.
