NISA news bundle: Sakura Wars, Atelier Annie, Phantom Brave, Disgaea 3

Nippon Ichi Software’s American publishing branch made several announcements today, including its plans to release Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love as a two-disc set. Each disc of the game, bound for Wii and PlayStation 2, will contain a different language track — one English, the other Japanese. When it ships this winter, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love will sell for $39.99.

A while ago, Disagaea 3’s first downloadable add-on was revealed, which enabled one to recruit special characters with every playthrough. Michael Wayland reported that NIS America would be delivering some DLC to North American fans as well, on a monthly basis, but didn’t put a date on anything. More recently, Nippon Ichi laid out a more specific plan.

NIS Event 2008 – Help decide Disgaea 3’s preorder bonus

Are you tired of gaming companies that force you to take their preorder shwag that you had no say in designing? Well no more! In a fun marketing ploy, NIS America is asking its customers to help decide which songs and cover art will be used on the Disgaea 3 preorder bonus soundtrack.
The voting period will end on July 7.

Disgaea 3, probably the most anticipated game announced at this year’s press event, has finally had some light shed upon its dark demon heart tonight. Scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 3, August 26, Disgaea 3 is the latest iteration of the Nippon Ichi’s flagship strategy RPG franchise.

More playable characters downloadable in Disgaea 3

A free update, available for download April 25, will enable players of the the PlayStation 3’s Disagea 3 to enlist the services of one of 10 high-powered characters with every clearing of the game. As Disgaea 3 hasn’t yet made it to North American stores, it is not yet known whether this update will be available for download in North America, or if the new version of the game will simply have it built it, or neither.

Surprising about 3 people, NIS America announced this afternoon that it will bring its PS3 strategy RPG Disgaea 3 to North America in August.

When Disgaea 3 is released in Japan next year, players looking to drop some extra cash will be able to pick up a special bundle, retailing at 9240 yen, that contains a special music collection CD? Surprise!…well, not really.? If this surprises you, give your head a little shake.

Disgaea 3 trailer, site update

Check right here for a YouTubed version of a brand new (at least to the internet) Disgaea 3 trailer. This was shown in Japan a while ago, but has just recently appeared online, via Nippon Ichi’s official Disgaea 3 website. The site has been updated with a new character, “Champuru-Sensei,” and now gives info on two playable classes: the female samurai and the male priest. I tried to make a Meet the Parents reference to that part where Robert De Niro says bluntly, “Greg’s a male nurse,” but creativity failed me.

The official website for Nippon Ichi Software’s upcoming PS3 strategy RPG Disgaea 3 revealed itself to the public today. The site just contains a teaser page at current, but will surely contain more when it launches on September 21.
Additionally, N1’s hype machine also hit the pages of the newest issue of Japanese publication Dengeki Playstation magazine. 9 scans from the issue lie below.

Over a year after series producer Souhei Niikawa told RPG Land that we “can count on part 3″ in an exclusive interview, NIS announced today that the next installment in its strategy RPG series Disgaea is in development for the PS3, and will go on sale in Japan sometime this winter for 7,141 yen (around 59 USD).
