Bioware has announced that Mass Effect 2 is currently in development. Electronic Arts has also revealed that the Mass Effect story is being set up as a trilogy. Mass Effect 2 is slated for release on the PC and Xbox 360 in early 2010.
Dr. Ray Muzyka, CEO and General Manager of Bioware, has stated they plan to deliever more intense combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration. In ths second chapter, designed to be darker than the original, Saren’s army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and “humans, still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril.” Although I can’t see how that’s at all possible.
