RPG Deals 9/13 – 9/19

By Russ | September 13, 2009 at 2:52 pm

Did anyone else have trouble taking advantage of deals this past week?  Hopefully this week goes a little smoother.

I walked into a Best Buy to utilize their ‘buy any PS3 game $59.99 and under, get a second one of equal or lesser value half off deal,’ and was told it was not valid on the games I bought.  Despite the naysayers, some advertising analysis proved I was correct.  When I report on these deals I try to let you know about any weird fine print that goes along with them.  The Best Buy ad did not have it, so I hope no one else got burned on misinformation from one of their locations.  Always check the disclaimers to be certain.

Toys R Us has a similar deal this week with a ‘buy a Greatest or Platinum Hits title, get a second Greatest or Platinum Hits 50% off.’  The titles must be between $19.99 and $29.99, and must be a Greatest or Platinum Hit.  The second title must also be of equal or lesser value.  Some titles may have the Hits status without showing, so research beforehand.  This one will come down to store preference, though.  Be wary.

Direct2Drive is having their 5th Year Anniversary sale and tons of games are going to be $5. Next week is all RPGs, so heads up now. This week will be action titles, but there are some interesting Ubisoft games up on their site until the end of the day. On an unrelated note, hopefully my HTML skills work out better this week.

NISA has announced their plans to rule the PlayStation Network when they introduce titles throughout October.  PSP titles such as Disgaea, Blade Dancer, Prinny and others will become available during the month.  The first week the titles drop there is a 50% discount available.  NISA states the prices will be between $5 and $13.  It would be awesome if the copious amount of DLC they put out for their PS3 and PSP titles was also discounted.  I would love the extra levels for Prinny.  Thanks to Heath for the heads up on this deal.

That’s all for this week.  Happy Hunting.

Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has it before writing them off. You might be able to get a raincheck. A lot of these deals are in-store only, except where specified.
