RPG Deals 10/4 – 10/11

Did you miss out on some PSP RPGs? Were they from NISA?
NISA’s PlayStation Network sale has begun. With the launch of the PSP Go and it’s lack of a UMD drive, several games have been posted to the online PlayStation Store in an effort to keep up with the system’s back catalog. Furthermore, all games that are coming out in the stores will also be available on the PSN.
NISA’s current strategy is to offer their older games at a discounted price the first week or two they are available. Blade Dancer is $5, Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! are $10, and Disgaea, Dragoneer’s Aria and Mana-Khemia are $15. While this is not the discount some sites are reporting, it is a decent drop off from the normal prices the titles fetch – some of which are not available anymore. Disgaea 2 is not available for a discount, as it was recently released.
K-Mart had some games sitting out on display rack. Among the titles were Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant for the 360. Prices were $20 apiece.
GoGamer is having another weekend sale – head over to this link to check out what’s being offered before it ends today.
Amazon.com is offering a $10 gift card with the pre-order of the regular edition of Dragon Age: Origins for the 360 or PS3.
Some of the Goodwill stores in the area get items from Target to re-sell. A few copies of Final Fantasy for the PSP were available for $11.
Of course, there’s the link to the RPG Land store at PlayAsia on the left as well.
It’s neat to see the first Digital Distribution only gaming device out on the market. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens. Sony wishes to support both the current PSP and the PSP Go, but I won’t be surprised if the PSP section disappears from a few stores to make room for another system. Personally, I’d like to see a way for retail copies to played without the UMD, but I know that opens up a whole can of pirate worms.
That’s it for today. Happy Hunting.
Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has it before writing them off. You might be able to get a raincheck. A lot of these deals are in-store only, except where specified.
