Square Enix MMORPG Fantasy Earth Zero coming stateside

In addition to its subscription-only Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix plans to bring a free MMORPG to North American gamers in 2010 in Fantasy Earth Zero. In the press release announcing this, Gamepot (not to be confused with Gamespot) senior director of business and marketing Thomas Lee made some lofty Gladiator comparisons when describing the action that goes on.
Fantasy Earth Zero came out in 2006 as simply “Fantasy Earth” in Japan. At the time, there was much wonder as to whether or not it would see a stateside release and until now, it had been all but forgotten. An exact release date has not yet been determined.
The English website is not completely finished, but its splash page is here.
That’s Sakimoto music you hear in the video.
