RPG Deals 4/25 – 5/1
By Russ | April 25, 2010 at 7:53 pm
Light week is light, folks. Perhaps some it’s time to kick back with DLC?
There’s all of a whopping two deals this week. Keep checking back to Amazon’s Deal of the Day – early last week the Lunar: Silver Star Harmony LE was around $25. Other places offer daily deals as well, such as Wal-Mart or Newegg. Be sure to check those outlets as well.
Toys R Us is offering $10 off select games. Among them are Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
Target is offering a $10 gift card with the purchase of certain games; FFXIII and Mass Effect 2 among them.
While this discount is only for a few dollars, .hack//Link is presently marked down (limited time only) at Play-Asia. The game hasn’t been officially announced for North American release yet, so anxious importers may consider this.
I used last week’s deal of buying Live and PSN cards to bolster some games with DLC. As mentioned in previous columns, doing so does extend the life of the game somewhat. If it’s a game you really enjoy, the DLC might provide a way to set back a purchase of a new game until said game is cheaper, or more feedback about is has been provided. Something to think about at least.
That’s all I have this week. Happy Hunting.
Disclaimer: Deals may not be available in all stores. Prices in each store may differ. You can try different stores to mitigate this, and always ask if a store has it before writing them off. You might be able to get a raincheck. A lot of these deals are in-store only, except where specified.
