Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers more like Zelda than Final Fantasy (preview, lots of screens)

For reference, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles isn’t technically an RPG. Just the same, it seems like a good pickup for those looking for a fun action/adventure.
GB, whom we thank for the screens, notes, “Combat is fairly straightforward. You aim at an enemy and, depending on how far away you are, a bar will fill up at varying speeds. Once that is filled, you are free to manipulate the object/enemy in any way you see fit– fling it across the field, pick it up and chuck it at something, whatever. You have the ability to roll around by shaking the remote, and can jump up walls and around platforms depending on the context (there is no dedicated jump button, so you can’t jump whenever you want).”
The bigger point of lobbing things at each other is finding our how it will react in collision. For example, a Bomb is weakened when the player drops a bucket of water on it.
Story progression sequences seem to come with a token minigame more often than not.
This is one of the best (if not the best) looking games on Wii. The screens here have undergone a bit of compression, so they’re good, but not the exact image you’d be seeing on a TV screen. The game comes recommended to those seeking a quality platform/adventure title with some crafting and puzzles thrown in. It’s officially listed street date is Dec. 26, but some stores have already received their shipments. Call for availability or order through good ol Play-Asia. They sell English versions, too.
Thanks to GB (which I think stand for Generic Badass, or at least it used to, if I recall correctly) for the screens.
