The Pressure is on Final Fantasy XIII

By Heath | December 13, 2009 at 12:42 am

And the time is almost upon us. The time for the generation’s first main-series Final Fantasy title. The time, gaming brethren, for beginning sentences — nay, entire articles — with conjunctions. We’re at a rare juncture in history. For the first time in eight years, Final Fantasy is making the jump to a new generation. The pressure is on Final Fantasy XIII.

Kid with dumbass shopping habits overcomes IGACWUS, blogs about it

By Heath | October 4, 2009 at 5:56 am

The consumer world is one populated by douchebags. Even at times, good folks like you and I may find ourselves being totally retarded, only to realize much later, if ever, that we had been involved in some high level douchery. But friends, for your own good, please, when you find yourself in that epiphany…don’t blog about it. Mark Melnychuk could use this lesson, as he posts on Kombo about what a consumer whore he was.

Share your thoughts or non-thoughts on Valkyria Chronicles 2

By Heath | July 16, 2009 at 9:31 am

I’m curious here. Quite a few mixed reactions are coming forth about Valkyria Chronicles 2, especially in regards to it being on PSP. Several fans of the original are diappointed that it won’t be on the PS3, perhaps understandably, especially for those among them that don’t own a PSP. However, some comments are right on the border of idiotic,

I disagree with Ashton Liu

By Heath | July 3, 2009 at 7:02 am

When RPGFan’s Asthon Liu says in his recent Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days review, “Nobody would have guessed that the product of Square Enix and Disney’s unholy tryst would have even taken off,” I politely disagree and stand as an exception. I remember expecting to make a huge splash. …Which means I also disagree with his next clause, “not to mention make a big a splash as it did….”

I seem to recall there being great expectations and sky’s-the-limit predictions surrounding the original Kingdom Hearts. I’m used to making fun of people from here on out, but like, in this case, that’s about the extent of my disagreement and it’s not founded on anyone being retarded, so ah….

Final Fantasy XIV: M-M-O-Snap

By Heath | June 8, 2009 at 1:48 am

If you use the internet, which RPG Land is sometimes a part of, you’ve probably heard about the E3 announcement of Final Fantasy XIV. If you haven’t, the official website of the soon forthcoming MMORPG is available, in several languages, right here.

But let’s turn our attention to more important matters: the tide and current of the interscape. Announcements like this tend to make waves on the information superseas. Here’s a sampling of what fans like you, and unlike you, are saying.

Wow, You Are All Pretty Shallow and Easily Humored, Part 1

By Heath | September 17, 2008 at 10:44 am

I love when companies announce announcements. “We have an announcement!” they say. Quiet hushes fall over the internet. “Our announcement,” they lead, “is that soon, we will make an announcement!” And forumers netwide can’t help but lap it up. Right now, people can’t shut up about Sega announcing, quite simply, that it (or one of its subsidiaries) is working on an RPG…which it will actually announce later. Really? This is what’s got you abuzz, tubes? Really? Is anyone surprised? Considering the length of the process, I’d be more surprised if Sega was not currently working on any RPGs we didn’t already know about.

Do Not Expect Xenogears from World Destruction (Editorial)

By Heath | July 13, 2008 at 9:44 pm

All across the internet, upcoming Nintendo DS game World Destruction is building up hype. This is in small part due to its looks and in small part due to it having a character that is a fricking bear pirate. But when really looking, it soon becomes obvious that the biggest factor in the huge buzz is that there are several key players from Xenogears involved. Certainly some of the anticipation is warranted, but let’s get one thing clear for all those awaiting this title: do not expect another Xenogears.

Games to Play on Your Deathbed or “At Least Heath Didn’t Die” (Editorial…?)

By Heath | February 10, 2008 at 1:15 am

For those that read the forums, this is not news, so here’s your catchup read. In short, I was “on the border of death” in a Japanese ER for a while there. Blah blah, yeah yeah, RPG Land keeps it real, so it wasn’t time for that. But being in the hospital for six days, I sure did suddenly find myself with quite a bit of game time, so I’ve got some fairly recently released handheld recommendations for those of you who will soon find yourselves in the hospital. Especially you, Dave.
