Fantasy Life TGS Hands-on Preview

Fantasy Life, on paper, seems like a perfect fit for plenty of JRPG fans. It’s co-developed by rising star Level 5 and old standby Brownie Brown, featuring music by Nobuo Uematsu, character designs by Yoshitaka Amano, and features a lighthearted tone that washes away the gritty, angsty funk of Serious Business JRPGs. But TGS tradition seems to require that I rail on a promising game for having a disappointing demo. This year, Fantasy Life is that game.

Uematsu, Amano Travel Time with Level-5 (new trailer)

Though he’s over 50, popular game music composer Nobuo Uematsu says his work on Level-5’s upcoming 3DS project Fantasy Life has been like a personal revolution for him. He’s found more joy working on this project than most in recent momory. Also from Level-5’s “Vision 2010” conference is a trailer of Time Travelres, below.

Level-5 announces Fantasy Life for DS

At the LEVEL 5 VISION conference, Level-5 unveiled its newest RPG, Fantasy Life. The game will be designed by Level-5, but developed by Brownie Brown, the company responsible for titles such as Blue Dragon Plus, Magical Starsign, and Mother 3.
