Top 5 Most Anticipated RPGs: July

The tides and waves of the internet are shifting. What are RPG lovers looking forward to the most, as of right now? Here are the 5 most anticipated:
5) Dragon Quest IX (DS)
Unlike most other games on this list, this one actually comes out in July, so this’ll be one more highly anticipated RPG going into the hands of eager gamers. One of the votes for this game came via email, in which Antoine said, “the DS DQ games are its best efforts so I am sure this will be great.”
4) Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PSP)
Back on the lit after falling off for a spell, perhaps spurred by those English screens Michael posted. Check out our hands-on preview here and learn more about what to expect.
3) Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (DS)
I only briefly tinkered the first game and skipped the second entirely. Am I missing something? There seems to be a large-but-mostly-silent bunch of really excited people who are looking forward to this one.
2) Final Fantasy XIV (PC, PS3)
Every time we post something on this, people jump all over it. The fall release of this game is going to be huge.
1) Ninokuni (DS, PS3)
Being revealed that it actually DOES exist was nice, to counter the rumors that had been spreading of its cancellation. Of course, these rumors were started by impatient forumgoers who were just kinda making stuff up, but hey, now at least we know for sure. And hey, multiple versions on different consoles. How about that?
Quite the list this month, and it’s interesting to see how the anticipation levels seem to flucuate as release dates get closer and/or as more news pours out. I thought Ninokuni and Golden Sun were way too obscure to make it on one of these lists, but you’ve surprised me. Good on ya, though 🙂
