So we would like to display the winner of RPG Land’s recent fan fiction contest “So you think you can Emo”. After an exhausted and very depressing couple of weeks pouring over the thousands of black mascara dripping, pin knife wielding, cry me a river, skinny jeans wearing entries we narrowed it down to this winner. Taking us all the way back to Final Fantasy 6 with her alternate telling of a key scene the game, I bring you: “Why You” by Emobrat47.

Final Fantasy XIV channel launches on Youtube

Hot on the heels of the recent Japanese official site update, a Final Fantasy XIV channel has launched on Youtube. The first video, called “Life in Eorzea #1” has been posted to the channel a few hours ago, and features several players taking a tour of Limsa Lominsa and remarking on the scenery. “Fish! A guy making a hamburg! That character is dancing!” is the basic gist of it.

Final Fantasy IX coming to Japanese PSN

Japanese Square Enix executives, in various ways, have said that Final Fantasy IX is headed towards teh PlayStation Network. According to a new twitblog thing, there are “two days till the greenlight of FF9 on PSN in Japan.” This does not necessarily mean it will be released at that time; that much is not yet 100 per cent clear.

The numbers are in, and Japan’s best-selling hardware and software (at least the top five) have been announced. The industry hauled in 549 billion yen from Japanese gamers from the end of March last year till just a few days ago. Here’s what brought in the biggest chunks of that cash.

Information on Final Fantasy XIV’s races and tribes

The Final Fantasy XIV official website updated today with new lore about the game’s races. Each of the five races (Hyuran, Miqo’te, Lalafel, Elezen and Roegadyn) have two tribes, with distinct physical and cultural features. First is the most numerous tribe, the Hyuran Midlanders:

Persona and Growlanser PSP to be re-released in Japan

Atlus of Japan announced today that it will be reissuing the PSP versions of the first Persona and Growlanser games, as a part of the “Atlus Best Collection.” The Atlus Best Collection versions will go on sale in Japan on June 3, for the price of 2940 yen each, and will have no additional content.
