Disgaea 4 North America release revealed

Disgaea 4, a PS3 exclusive tactical RPG with a political theme (plus it takes place in hell — the place for politicians) will be released on Feb. 24 in Japan and “Summer 2011” in North America.  RPG Land will have more on this title in the very near future, as we just got out of a press conference about it.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy – TGS hands-on impression

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy hit the Tokyo Game Show with the now-famous two new playable characters (FFIV’s Kain and FFXIII’s Lightning), so I picked it up to play for a bit. If you weren’t expecting the game to be basically the same as the first, prepare to be astounded. If you were, great! I can skip to the part where I tell you what’s new and interesting.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together – TGS hands-on impression

After playing Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fortune (to be called Let Us Cling Together in North America) at the Tokyo Game Show today, I don’t really have very much to say beyond “Well done, Square Enix.  Solid port/remake/whatchamacallit!”  The demo showed that this game will be great-looking and great-sounding, and will have none of the lag or excessive load times that sometimes plague other ports when they make the jump to PSP. Some changes might bother purists or fans of the original, though.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 is for…PSP

The anxiously awaited Valkyria sequel that seemingly the whole internet wanted to return to the PS3 will not be making its comeback just yet. As the second game, the third Valkyria Chronicles title will be made for PSP. It is currently scheduled for Japanese release on Jan. 27, 2011. We’ll be keeping you updated from the Tokyo Game Show when it starts in a few hours.

3DS-based Eternal Eden remake coming

Indy developer Blossomsoft recently said on its Twitter thing that it would be remaking its PC-based RPG Eternal Eden for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s currently described as “under planning.” The original version was reviewed on RPG Land by Joseph Wartick, who rated it “Good.”
