(Rumor) Persona 5 for PS3 in the works?

By Heath | July 20, 2009 at 6:39 am

*UPDATE 7/22* The plot thickens…or rather, thins:

The Pachinko parlor in question has removed the Persona 5 PS3 bit from its announcement.  It didn’t say as to why, so it’s unknown if Atlus requested this, or if they just realized they made a mistake.

While definitely not confirmed, a flyer from a pachinko parlor excited to launch its new Megami Tensei-themed pachinko machine may have let the demicat out of the bag. The flyer, pictured below, says that the machine’s impending launch will coincide with big news about Persona 5 for the PlayStation 3.

Now, again, this is not official, as the pachinko house could have made a mistake, even though the flyer does not seem ambiguous. Or heck, maybe the parlor knew this kind of buzz would happen, figured any press is good press, and is playing us all, right now, in a scheme to get us to pay attention to its pachinko machine. Come to think of it, it has been a long time since I sat, chainsmoked for four hours, and lost 300 bucks playing pachinko. Hmmm….

We’ll report more on this developing story as it surfaces. Or as it doesn’t surface. Whichever.
