Shop Watch May 2015

So many re-releases this month I may re-package an old intro myself.

Titles Shipping Week of May 3

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 – Record Breaker, published by Atlus (3DS). The upgrade to the original Devil Survivor 2; this SMT spin-ff delves once again into strategy RPG territory with voice acting. Boasting over 100 hours of gameplay and the ability to accidentally murder your in-game friends during the lead-in to the apocalypse; Record Breaker looks to break souls.

Titles Shipping Week of May 10

Final Fantasy IV – The After Years, published by Square-Enix (PC). Square-Enix seems hot to bring a lot of its Final Fantasy titles to PC right now, and the Fred Savage version of Final Fantasy IV (noted for Fred’s exceptional performance as Cecil Har-) no, wait. This is Final Fantasy IV-2. It’s got a Holy Dragoon. This is an online release only.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, published by Square-Enix (PS4). Hey, here’s a system without these games. Whoops, May 12 changes that.

Titles Shipping Week of May 17

HyperDimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed, published by NISA (Vita). The Hyper-series gets an action RPG entry in U. This looks like it might follow the original HyperDimension Neptunia series, and not the ReBirth series, so add all that fractured canon up and see how it feels. But hey; this week features no re-releases! I think.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, published by CD Projekt Red (PC, PS4, Xbone). I know very little about this series other than it allows players to bang hot women, looks gorgeous, and is based on a series of books. It’s also multi-platforming out of the box, so that’s good for interested parties.

Titles Shipping Week of May 24

ArcaniA – The Complete Tale, published by Nordic Games (PS4). Aaaaand back to re-releases.

Re-releases aren’t bad. But this is a lot of titles to be re-released in a month’s time.

Advice: None.

The Future: Portable Gaming for the summer. It always happens around this time, what with it being warm and all.
