Shop Watch September 2017

Expect delays this month.

There’s way too much terrible weather going on not to.

September 12 sees the release of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for PS4 and Vita. Another title with the Ys VII and Ys IV remake party system; Ys VIII will undoubtedly end with Adol facing off one-on-one against some jerk in an awesome fight scored by epic music. Ys games are like that.

Mary Skelter: Nightmares releases on the PS Vita September 19. This dungeon crawler features a system where players can go berserk if too much blood is spilled by or on them. Hexagonal SRPG Blackguard 2 also sees release on PS4 and Xbone.

Summon Night 6 hits PS4 and Vita systems that last week of September. The publisher is GaijinWorks, a name which might have flown when I was younger but now seems kinda pointless. It’s a U.S. company translating foreign games in and for the U.S. market. Where are you being a Gaijin in this equation? GaijinWorks headed by former Working Designs head Victor Ireland, who oversaw many memorable localisations in the 90s of games many players would normally never get to see. Guess what happened to Working Designs because of this?

Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition also hits stores this week.

September’s limited editions are already gone. Have publishers wisened up? It’s possible because I can’t find the Ys VIII LE anymore. Drat.
